“Sometimes love happens when you least expect it.” That was what my husband’s mistress told me the day I found out about their affair.

I didn’t believe it until five minutes later when mouthwatering celebrity chef Tanner Reese walked up, tossed his arm around my shoulders, and told my cheating husband to take a hike.

Tanner and I couldn’t have been more different. He spent his weekends at clubs, rubbing elbows with fellow A-listers. I spent mine in yoga pants with cheese boards and a glass of wine - or six.

Our relationship shouldn’t have worked, but it did. That is until Tanner proved to me that even though love happens when you least expect it....

So does heartbreak.

I enjoyed Tanner and Rita’s story. The audiobook was amazing, narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life.

This was a great audiobook! The narration was fantastic. Both narrators had perfect timing! I love it when you can't even tell their reading, but instead telling the story.
This book grabs you right out of the gate with some pretty shocking events.
Tanner and Rita meet out of happenstance and he is generous enough to play along with Rita's ruse.
I was laughing out loud at their banter and Tanner's persistence in trying to get Rita to go out with him. I found these two to be absolutely charming. It's an emotional story for sure. <3

I adored Aly Martinez's Darkest Sunrise Duet and counted it on my Favorites of 2017 list. So I was v. excited to read Across the Horizon, the story of Tanner and Rita, two characters from the Darkest Sunrise Duet. The author is known for her angsty love stories and she's one of my favorite one-clicks. I adored both Tanner and Rita, and loved them together even more. They had the best witty banter and fantastic chemistry! The ending was perfection, only to be topped by the fantastic epilogue. A must read! Emma Wilder is a long-time favorite of mine and I loved her performance. This is my second time to hear Troy Duran and I am adding him to my favorites list- his performances are fantastic!

The ending was perfection, epilogue was fantastic

I so enjoyed listening to this book. The male voice mesmerized me and kept me listening. The female was fair. I just did not like the writers version of her. The story was good but I don’t think it’s going to be one I listen to again because of the female narrator. All performance points go to him.

Loved It

These two narrators, Emma Wilder and Troy Duran, were the BEST together! Rita goes through some pretty crappy major life changes in the opening scene and lasting through the book. Emma Wilder seemed to channel all those feelings right there in her voice, in the emotions she gave off... it was magic! Tanner, oh Tanner, I feel like we really got the see him mature in this book. I heard it in every work Troy Duran uttered. His sexy, gravely voice spoke to me... and I felt myself blushing!

What is it about the 7 year itch in marriages? I don’t get it. Seven years into marriage and people think they need to get some strange. Rita is living this life now. After 7 years of marriage, it’s all over. I really appreciate the strength and support that Rita’s friend gave her during her heartbreak. But Rita is one strong lady. She doesn’t just take this sitting down. She doesn’t break and I was just so impressed with her strength. Tanner is completely adorbs and I could have gobbled up with white knight personification.

However, these characters could not have been more different. Perhaps that’s what made them so amazing. Across the Horizon is incredibly swoony and sweet, all while being fun. I loved the different feels you get in this book. It’s completely across… the horizon. I just adored the fight they had in them. Life isn’t easy and stuff doesn’t just fall on your lap. Tanner and Rita have received that memo and they handle everything as it comes in.

The BEST... story and narration!
