CERTAINLY PLEASANT

This book has everything you need to know about bookkeeping, but in a very easy to listening format. It has well lentghed chapter about using a few different programs for doing your bookkeeping. This book is goes over everything from day to day tasks to doing end of month and end of year reports, and finally filing taxes and prepping for a new accounting cycle. I would think this would be perfect for anyone to have on their desk to check on something you aren't sure about.

worth buying and studying

There's not a whole lot to this book, but I bought it to help me with my financial accounting course. I found it be very helpful in the beginning while I was trying to get the hang of the basic concepts of this class. It was nice to have things put into normal everyday language. For the price, I can't complain too much.

A lot of valuable incite.

This would be a perfect little book to listen right before taking a beginning accounting class in college. It is very listenable, and explains basic accounting concepts very well. My only problem with it is that it was so long. I ran out of chapters before I ran out of interest in the material (which is a compliment because I don't find accounting all *that* interesting). It was useful to help me know enough accounting for the software development I am working on.

I have no regrets!

It has small business accounting thoughts to start any Big Job. I've been running my own service company for fifteen years. I've done all my own bookkeeping. So why would I need this? Because I've done things in a backwards way at times and often wanted to know what the correct procedure is. I skimmed through the first half of the book in an hour, primarily because I was familiar with a lot of the content and stopped to read in more detail, the items that I needed to know more about. Everything is explained in a clear and easy-to-listen manner. It is well organized and easy to reference a particular topic. There is much more than I need to know but plenty of what I did need to know. I guess I haven't been doing things wrong, but at least I understand why things were working the way they were.

Accurate

This book is a great resource for anyone wanting to know more about accounting as it relates to small businesses. It really walks you through all of the details and helps you to learn about different types of structures, corporations, small businesses, payroll, and more. So far, everything is going at the pace I need it to be and much of it is review from what I have learned on my own. The Core Principles and retained earnings were new subjects to me and also the 150 accounting terms are very effective as well...

Good resource.

Combining 5 books into one makes looking up things as they come up easy. Its simple to flip between the different sections to quickly get up to speed. I appreciated the accounting and bookkeeping basics review in the first few chapters.I'm still listening to the audible, and I'm sure it will make me pro in this field. If you own a small business, are planning on starting one, or are interested in the subject, you need this book for the accounting aspect. While you really need a degree in accounting to be able to work as an account, you can always try to learn the underlying principles and fundamentals of accounting just for yourself. This book will inform you well and open your eyes

All I need to know

This book demystifies all that nonsense. It gives clear definitions and real life associations for all important words and phrases in accounting. The books gradually gives the reasons why this or that term was invented and how we ended up building on abstraction on top of another. This makes bookkeeping/accounting very comprehensible.
The book is a superb start for those who are not accounting related. It debates about the basics of accounting in a way easily understandable to all.
Huge thanks and respect to the authors for that!
Now I can sleep in piece.

The forest

Where was this book when I took accounting in college? I like that it used plain language and was very easy to understand. This has good basic information. I enjoyed listening this audio book because it gives a perspective from the big picture. The function of each accounting process is known from a universal point of view. Because this book shows the concepts and avoids the many details one can begin to see the intent which has helped me understand process rather than simply following various rules. This audiobook composed so effectively that anybody understand.

Now I Think I Understand

I was laid off earlier this year, and have been trying to use my spare time to 'pad my resume' a little with new skill sets, as well as looking into possible degrees that might be worth going back to school for. This book seemed like a well lengthed, no-frills introduction to the fundamentals of accounting.
This is an excellent book to look into if you are a complete accounting novice or just want to quickly review the basics of that one accounting class you took 10 years ago. The examples given can sometimes be a little difficult to follow along with, unless you are someone who is nerdy with numbers, but there isn't anything in this book that is overly-difficult to grasp, and anything that is a little difficult can easily be explained with a short Google search.
A good overview of essential accounting, including closing entries. Perfect for a fundamental review and for others with little knowledge needing to know the basics.
