Publisher's summary

What do I do when a drool-worthy stranger steals my car?

Okay, so it’s not my car. But that’s not the important part. I’m currently hiding in the back seat from my carjacker-possible-psycho-killer, trying to ignore his sexy scent, lumberjack shoulders, and obnoxious singing.

And I think he knows I’m here.

Accidental Detour is a 17,000-word gay romance full of questionable decisions, attempts at holiday cheer, an unexpected road trip, and a car named Stella. This humorous Christmas story is a stand-alone with a HEA.

Great Story & Listen🎧 Sweet, Fun & Entertaining!

This enjoyable, fast-paced story is will have you smiling the entire time. It is my first book written by D.K. Sutton, and it will not be my last, she is a gifted author and she fits an impressive amount of story in this short read/audiobook listen and the dialogue and witty banter was brilliant. I adored the two lead characters, Jonas and Zane, the two meet in such a non-traditional way, an unrealistic situation but the author pulls it off and makes it real with a twist and an unexpected connection. This is a short and sweet story, just what you need to brighten up your day. D.K. Sutton, thank you for this great story and fun ride!

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kevin Earlywine did a great job bringing these characters to life and their story to life. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona perfectly, and was believable in every role he played. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. Earlywine is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

Enjoyable short story

Accidental Detour is a quick, sweet and funny read.
This is a story with a series of missteps that end in a HEA for Zane and Jonas.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two guys.
Cute story and a pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

I actually really liked this one

So here we have Jonas, who is a young fella who snuck out to hide in his sister's car during a family party. While he was asleep, a hunky lumberjack drives off without knowing someone was in the backseat. This begins the love story between Jonas and Zane.

Since this is such a short story, I cannot go into very much detail, but this is an instalove situation with an older brother of his sister's boyfriend. You have to just accept this one and go with the flow. It has a good vibe.

I had no issues with the quickness of the falling in love, as it had to be, but I wish some things weren't mentioned. I mean, Jonas works in IT but that's the whole title. I work in IT but I don't actually describe it that way. Just say he is a programmer or engineer or whatever, that would've been fine. I have no idea why that part stuck in my head but it did.

Anyway, this was a new to me narrator but I enjoyed the narration. Kevin did a good job and I would listen to them again.

Fun Christmas novella!

This was a short and sweet story set just before Christmas. The meet-cute between the these two was definitely unique and so hilarious! I would love for this story to be expanded into a full book so we get more of these guys story. The narrator was new to me and I really enjoyed them!

Cute and Quirky

A bit wacky and plenty of fun, this was an entertaining and quick listen. It’s has great humor and lots of miscommunication between Jonas and his “car jacker” Zane. The narrator is quite engaging and made both main characters very distinct with lots of personality. Jonas and Zane are both a bit of a mess, which makes for a really humorous ride to Durango. Very cute over

Fun and emotional

So it isn't Christmas, ignore that and just read this delightful holiday story about a guy who falls for the man who carjacks him. Jonas and Zane make a perfect couple in this madcap romance that will remind you of the screwball comedies with Grant/Hepburn and Powell/Lombard.

I Enjoyed It

"He is rugged with a capital Yum."

I enjoyed this book. It was a cute, fun, quick story. Jonas decided to take a few minutes break by himself away from the bustle of his big family party and goes to relax in his older sister's pretty car. We start this book with him hiding in the back seat while the car is being stolen by an attractive man who cannot sing. This is a fun read where there's more to things than meets the eye. The narrator Kevin Earlywine does a good job with the narration.
