Publisher's summary

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Petrie has it all. She’s rich, beautiful, intelligent, and successful. None of this matters to her mom. Les-bi-an. That’s all her mom sees.

Even though Lizzie insists her mom’s antagonism does not bother her, Lizzie distances herself from her entire family. When her brother, Peter, calls her out of the blue to announce he’s getting married, Lizzie’s entire life changes drastically. Peter’s fiancée wants to bring the lesbian outcast back into the family. Will this desire cause Lizzie to lose everything dear to her?

Sarah, Lizzie’s girlfriend, is ecstatic about this change in Lizzie’s personal life. Sarah, the hopeless romantic, wants it all, including settling down with the fiercely independent Lizzie.

Can Lizzie be tamed? And can she survive her family and all of their secrets?

Irritatingly stupid.

The most dumbest woman ever. Why do lesbian authors always make their woman characters stupid. I had to
forward faster. I hope I can return it.

Had to stop reading this book

I LOVE reading lesbian novels of all genres and very rarely do I choose to stop reading one as I did with this book. I don't know if the author intentionally made the main character so unlikable or if the narration made her that way but why create a character who lies and is so stupid in getting duped into things she does not want. i wish Sara was the main character since i kept wishing she would just leave Lizzie for someone who has an actual interest in her. Maybe it would have been better reading it as opposed to listening to it but it was getting stupid for me. I like to like the main character in a book and this just was not for me. It is sad to write this review as I always want to support lesbian authors but there is no way I can finish this, sorry T.B. maybe someday I will read another one of your books I am sure you have a gem among them, just not this one.

This was a great book

I loved and hated Lizzie. I laughed a lot throughout this book. I noticed some valuable lessons thrown in as well; about secrets, and about taking people for granted.

The main character Lizzie is indeed “A Woman Lost”

The story follows Lizzie’s relationships with her lover, best friend and family. It describes the upbringing of a family that helps create a person with a lot of personal self-doubt/worth and tends to sabotage her personal relationships while still being very successful in her business life. The story has twists and turns that will keep you guessing on the outcome.

an aquired taste

This book was a challenge. Different than my usual reqd. I can't really call it a romance novel. more like an adult lesbian drama.

Lizzie is not very likeable in this book.

The writing is crisp. The scenarios are painful too endure and everything is raw

This book was an investment in a great story... but spread over 6 books now.

I love the first person narrative is perfect for this character and this story. But did I mention painful.

I barely made it through. There is so much face palming and yelling at the phone that I want to go through.

I persisted, in part because I got it for free from the author with a promo code. Had I stopped, I would have missed out on a great character and a great series.

As the series goes on, it gets better, funnier and more wonderful. I had to listen to #4 and 5 via kindle text to speech.

Amazing to see Lizzie and Sarah develop over the series.

The first book does suffer from a paucity of healthy, grounded characters... so watching everyone stumble through the chaos is tough.

as the series goes on, the characters grow and there is a steady infusion of more grounded characters.

Really great story

I loved the book series. I've already read them. so when the audio came out i was excited. well the narration wasn't great but i got use to it. and i am looking forward the the next few books in the series. i had this love hate feeling for Lizzie for a while. but then started to feel bad for her. i know she made mistakes but her friends really never let her live it down.
the book was great and had really loving and believable characters. you will find yourself lost in the lives and dramas. it worth reading for sure.

Couldn’t connect with the characters

I didn’t think dialogue wasn’t relatable or enjoyable. The characters who were friends called each other idiot, moron, stupid. They socked each other on the arm. It didn’t ring genuine.

Cute, Charming and Funny!

This is book # 5 of a 7 book series. I listened to the entire series from 1-7 in 9 days. Just when I would say to myself, "last book for a few days", the Author TB Markinson would leave me in some sort of cliff hanger. I count my blessing that had all seven books at the same time!

The narrator in one of my favorite narrators however, in this series, I needed to speed up her performance to 1.1 because it sounded a little slow, especially in parts where she performed as a man. But overall she did a great job.

I have listened to a total of 13 of her books (including a co-write with Miranda McLeod) and with each book, I think her craft has improved. Her books are fantastic!

Lost and found

Really enjoyed the journey the main character took, being quite clueless of all going on, even with friends pointing her in the right direction, even with feelings tapping on her shoulder to take notice. I guess we can all be lost in ourselves at times and this story certainly pointed that out.
Stephanie was really enjoyable to listen to and loved her diffrent voices for each of the characters.

Great listen

I listened to A Clueless Woman first which is book 0 and this was a fantastic follow on to the story.

I must admit Lizzie did annoy me in this book, with the fact she was lusting after her brothers fiancée.

The narrator was brilliant again.

I can't wait to carry on the story with the other books in the series.

Enjoyable listen

I liked catching up on the Lizzie/Sarah storyline. I found Lizzie annoying in this book. It’s cheesy but I loved it!

Love fact Lizzie loves her audiobooks and a rum and coke!

I heart A Woman Lost

I heart Lizzie…..like so much, and after listening to Stephanie bring her character to life, I heart Lizzie even more now.

Having read A Woman Lost and loved it, I couldn’t wait to listen to the audiobook and was glad I found myself loving it just as much as reading the book. The story really was brought to life in a new, exciting way by Stephanie, and I was once again in fits of giggles with certain moments of this book.

The story is a beautiful romance, steered awkwardly by the fantastically awkward Lizzie, who is the most unique character ever. Stephanie got her just right, and I really enjoyed hearing the first person narrative in this way. The additional accents Stephanie did for the other characters were brilliant, and her delivery of the story and dialogue was spot on.

I was gripped listening to this audiobook, and will definitely be listening to it again because it was just wonderful.

You want to shake her

Lizzie is again her true self and if she is not careful she will lost a very important person in her life. Sarah! She‘s so blind and in a way a bit of a commitment phobic. It‘s not helping that she is attracted to her brothers fiancé...listen to her next failure with hopefully a Happy End.

Great

I loved this book and series. I have to admit with a big smile on my face that this audio version gave it more scope. It's been a while since I read these books and didn't even know that another two were added to the series. A great story, characters and performance. Now I'm off to listen to the next one.

I loved this book

I really loved these series. Having read all the books last year I enjoyed how the narrator brought all characters to live, better than I imagined.
