Publisher's Summary

Not even a witch can keep her secrets safe in the sizzling ninth installment of nationally best-selling author Heather Blake's Wishcraft series.

Wishcrafter Darcy Merriweather's enchanted wedding plans are put to the test when murder invites itself to her bridal luncheon....

The Enchanted Village always has a touch of magic about it, but the buzz of excitement over the wedding between wish-granting witch Darcy and Police Chief Nick Sawyer is positively electric. With every spellbinding detail planned to perfection, all that's left is to sit back and let wishes come true. But Darcy's dream wedding is threatened when the Divinitea Cottage, the tea room hosting her bridal luncheon, goes up in flames, revealing the strangled body of the owner, Leyna Noble.

Making vows to solve the crime without delaying the nuptials, Darcy focuses on her prime suspect, and number-one nemesis, wicked witch Dorothy Hansel Dewitt, a notorious firebug. But when a psychic vanishes without a trace, Darcy's investigation shifts to Leyna's mysteriously bewitching past. Darcy must sort through mystical claims and old, vengeful grudges to find a killer before she is forced to forever hold her peace.

The best of the best...

While I am saddened that this is the end of this series, I am grateful to Heather Blake for the gift of this book, and this series. I have enjoyed sharing the lives of the people of the Enchanted Village over the years. They have become like family, and Heather created them in a way that I could totally believe the premise that witches are living along side mortals in this charming place. There were so many situations that have come up in prior books, and Heather managed to bring everything to a satisfying resolution in this one book. This book is truly the best of the best. I was so happy with how things unfolded for Harper, Glenda, Vince, the Elder, Nick, Darcy and...oh, I guess everyone else in the village. So, while I'm sorry that this series has ended, I am glad to have this book - and the others in the series - to listen to over and over. And I should also mention that the voice artist, Coleen Marlo, did an amazing job narrating this series.

Well done

I love this series!! I hate that it is ending but glad that she leaves the door open...just in case. She wraps things nicely and still manages to insert a bit of, "wait...what? No...you have to get into that hidden story now!" Here's hoping she does one day!

A PERFECTLY MAGICAL READ

THERE IS MUCH MORE AT STAKE IN THE VILLAGE THAN ANYONE REALIZES. LIVES ARE IN DANGER. THE ELDERSHIP IS AT RISK. MADNESS AND MAYHEM ARE RAINING DOWN. ARE DARCY, NICK, HARPER, AND GLENDA UP TO THE TASK AT HAND? NOW, MS. BLAKE, PLEASE TELL ME THERE ARE MANY MORE ADVENTURES AWAITING THE CRAFTERS, HALF CRAFTERS, FAMILIARS, AND MERE MORTALS IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

Weird mispronunciations

Common words are mispronounced. For Example Combing was pronounced Calm Bing. This continued issue always pops up at important moments in the story, often to the point of disrupting the flow of active listening. Good story, but a poor performance by the narrator as well as the audio producers.
