An Entertaining Short!

This was a very entertaining listen! The ending will have you chuckling and it's not what you think will happen. It's a great way to spend fifteen minutes of your time. Mr. Blue spins an ordinary snapshot of a couple's life wonderfully and puts an unexpected twist at the end!

A great little story...

Now this is an author who knows how to tell a short story. Characters were compelling and well developed for such a short span of time to have spent with them. The bits about dietary choice arrogance and obnoxious social media behavior had me laughing out loud and made me appreciate the ending even more. The narrator has an elegant voice and does a great job with this story. I would certainly be interested in checking out more from this author and this narrator. surprise!

An absolutely delightful listen for such a horrifying story!  Short but definitely not sweet.  The narration by David Morley Hale was spot on, too!

Definitely not for the faint of heart.  LOVED IT!!!

VERY short but good

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

At only 15 minutes long, I don't think this book is worth a credit. It is, however, quite well written and is entertaining. The narrator did a good job on this tale. It has a good twist, but I felt this could (and should have been) much longer.

Excellent

From the very beginning this book kept my attention and I had no problem at all listening to it so easily. My only complaint was that at the very end when you hear what was the ingredients I felt it could of given more descriptive detail other than needing more I thought it was great!!!
Also narration was excellent:)

Well written and excellently narrated

I really enjoyed 'A Watched Pot', despite it being only 15 minutes long. I found the characters to be well written, the pacing good, and the ending well executed. The dialogue was well done, too, which is often a weak spot in a number of short stories I've read, most of which focus on the narrative, rather than the dialogue, which is often detrimental. David Morley Hale does an excellent job narrating, and has a quality to his voice that really suited the tone of the story.

Some have complained that the publisher's summary and the cover tagline reveal too much about the story, but even though I correctly guessed the ending early on, I found that I still enjoyed the story. If anything it adds to the foreshadowing of sinister events.

Overall this was a well written (if short) and well narrated story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Going vegan.

This little satire might be short in length but is packed full of character. A dinner party, vegan guests who are the friends of the disagreeable hostess and the poor underdog husband who is doing all of the work. Yes, the ending was predictable, but none the less delicious because of it. The narrator, David Morley Hade, with exaggerated accents and gloriously sardonic reading, perfectly captures the spirit of the story. Only his very audible sharp intakes of breath between some sentences cast a shadow on his otherwise excellent performance.

My thanks to the rights holder for freely gifting me a complimentary copy of A Watched Pot, at my request, via Audiobook Boom. I will certainly be looking out for more works by Mr.Blue.

Amusing little story

An amusing little tale of four rather unpleasant characters, David Morley Hale narrates very well, he makes the humour all the more apparent. The ending was a little predictable but it was still funny, in an evil way.

Funny

I was given a free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I found this pretty funny. It may be short, but it had a range of emotions, and they all felt real and in character. The ending was a bit predictable, but the book itself was enjoyable.
