Publisher's Summary

They’ve been best friends since seventh grade. But this summer, teetering on the threshold of 30, four women are going to need each other more than ever

Cassie has sworn off men after yet another bad date though, deep down, she’s still looking for Mr. Right. A long-haired, tattooed biker is definitely not him, so there’s no harm in a few Harley rides through Sonoma. Right?

Julie married her high school sweetheart too young and now wonders how her life became all about leaky faucets and checkbook balances. Maybe love isn’t enough to sustain the perfect couple.

Marty’s firefighter husband takes her for granted, and with her marriage on the rocks, an old flame begins to look mighty tempting. She’s seriously thinking of crossing that line.

Beth is a busy doctor trapped in a body that’s betrayed her yet again and she’s becoming a difficult patient and a secretive friend. She’s fighting for her life.

Life can change in an instant...or a summer. As these four friends deal with life’s challenges, the strength of their bond will see them through.

No one delves into the complexities of female friendship better than number-one New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr.

Great story; poor narration

Robyn Carr has become one of my favorite authors, having listened to all of Virgin River & Sullivan Crossings series, as well as several other of her other books. The narration was so poor, lacking voice differentiation, it became almost painful to listen. Please return back to Therese Plummer as your narrator.

Nice story but

Narration was poor. No “big biker guy” sounds like the girl he’s dating. Other men’s voices were just as bad.

Boring, Meh Narration, Repetitive

I really wanted to like this book. If you just want some thing on in the background that you don’t have to think about literally at all – this would be good for that. Otherwise, as far as entertainment, this book does not have much to offer. The storyline is meandering and boring, the characters are shallow and stock, The writing is repetitive. Spoiler warning: we find out in 1000 different ways that one of the character’s husbands won’t pick up his clothes - and that is the big issue that one of the characters has to deal with. Then narration is also an issue, as it is difficult to tell which of the characters are actually speaking because the narrator does not change their voice for anyone. This narrator would probably be good for a non-fiction title but not one that requires different voices for characters.
All in all, pretty disappointed. I will check out other works by this author, but this one misses the mark for sure.

New narrator, not a fan.

Not a fan of the new narrator or the GD that is always in Robyn Carr’s books. Great story line

Unnecessary Profanity

I bought this book because it was in the clean and wholesome category. Profanity started in the first chapter. I did not finish the book and could not get a refund. Audible should do a better job with letting people know books are rated r for profanity and sexual content .

A fantastic story!

Everytime I read or listen to Summer in Sonoma's story, it leaves me wanting more. Do Walton and Cassie eventually get married? What happens with the other families lives? The story line is amazing, just enough suspence, thrill and a perfectly built love story. I would love to see this evolve into a sequel.

Main Character Annoying as Crap

Overall a good story and narration, what Ive come to expect from Robyn Carr. I enjoyed most of the other characters, and the story was good and kept me
interested. Cassie the main character is just unbearable. She is snotty, judge mental, whiny, and overall someone I came to really dislike. Luckily there are several other enjoyable characters to take the spotlight away from her

fun virtual listen to just like all of hers.

No surprises and very predictable however for just relaxing and enjoying being told a story without being emotionally stirred up her books are always a perfect fit.

Needed better narration

This was the amazing and well-developed story you’d expect from Robyn Carr, but the narration was lacking. The narrator had such small variations in her voices that it made dialogue very hard to follow at times. I’d almost prefer the ridiculous male voices some narrators use to not being able to tell which character is speaking.
