Secrets of a loved one
The secret was not what I expected. Could Scarlett Fontaine have left behind a treasure in Alaska? Enjoyed the narrators and how the story unfolds. The descriptions of the landscape and nature was captivating. Would love to visit Alaska for the Northern lights.

Life may have other plans for you...
The most memorable moments were of the 1963 Alaska earthquake. I don't remember ever hearing about it as I grew up, but it must have been traumatic. I believe the relationship between h & Eric could be just as confusing as it was written, though it was so difficult to see him so emotionally crippled that he couldn't even face difficult things in his life. I could also believe that the h & writer could develop a sincere & peaceful love through their similar interests & attraction. And I found the backstory of Valerie & Drew to have an interesting ending.

Ms MacLean is my favorite author! I've read all her books and I love her writing skills. She knows how to keep the suspense alive and tug at your emotions all the way to the end of her story. I can't wait for her next story to come out@

Great story line!
I really enjoyed this book.
It’s a different kind of love story told in the past and then the present alternating chapters.
I really loved the history and the beauty told in words of what Alaska was and is like then and now.
