Publisher's summary

When Cherringham choir stalwart Arthur Chisholm is robbed in the dead of night, ending up in hospital, it seems he's just the victim of bad luck. Bad timing too, since he will now miss the choir's special holiday performance of Handel's Messiah - to be performed with scores of other local choirs, in London's Royal Albert Hall. But as more of their fellow choir members are burgled, Jack and Sarah realise these crimes are no coincidence. With just days before the concert, can they unravel the mystery of who is responsible - and why - before the Messiah reaches its grand finale?

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating innovative content and working on major projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the best-selling mystery series Cherringham. Their latest series project is called Mydworth Mysteries.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of "DCI John Barnaby" in Midsomer Murders and "Jim Riley" in The Life of Riley. He is also known for his film roles in The Nativity, Sorted and Son of Rambow. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as "Norman Birkett" on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

Still loving …

Obviously after 43 installments I love the series. It’s a good break from all the news going on today on radio and telly. Neil Dudgeon I could listen to you all day. This story prepared the way for Christmas by using the Messiah. Thanks for a lovely afternoon ❣️

Loved it

I love every book in the series. They are my favorites. I love the story. I love the characters, and the narration is spot on. I’m only sorry that they’re over too quickly. Now I have to wait for the next one.

What’s not to like? Clever and cozy!

Again the writers of the Cherringham series have entertained us with great characters, locales and hopes for more of the same. Neil Dudgeon’s narration is perfection.

Love #43!

Another great Cherringham mystery solved by Jack and Sarah! I also enjoy the narration by Neil Dudgeon (on loan from Midsomer Murders), as well as the quirky population of Cherringham.

#44 coming soon!

Who in the world?!!!!!

When this first started I thought that they had switched to another narrator. I can’t believe the difference in Neil Dudgeons voice. It took away from the book so much. This wasn’t my favorite one but would have been much more enjoyable if he didn’t sound so different. 😳
