Wanted: one wife, one baby. Love not required.

Navy SEAL Boone Rudman has six months to find a wife and get her pregnant or he'll lose his chance to win 1,500 acres of prime Montana ranch land. So when he discovers Riley Eaton living on his new ranch, all grown up from the tomboy she used to be, he decides she'll do for his bride - whether or not she's got other plans.

Riley Eaton quit her job, sold her car, and moved to Chance Creek with her friends to pursue the dreams she'd put on hold for far too long. She has no idea her uncle sold the ranch out from under her - and has no plans to marry any time soon - but when Boone shows up, sexy as hell after 15 years in the service, she begins to wonder if her priorities are all wrong.

When duty turns to desire, Boone launches a campaign to win Riley's heart. But is it too little, too late? Or can he convince Riley to forget the past and create a future worth fighting for?

Just finished A SEAL’s Oath by Vivian Arend, and it was a warm, spicy, small-town romance with a heart of gold and a body like Boone’s (read: solid and dependable with a few surprises).

Riley and Boone have instant chemistry, and their connection is both emotional and physical from the get-go. It’s got that “we’re fated but also working through our baggage” energy, which I’m always a sucker for. The romance is fast-burn but sweet, and the story sets up the whole town like it’s ready to become your next fictional friend group.

The performance was enjoyable—clear, engaging, and well-paced. While a few emotional scenes didn’t hit as hard as they could have, the narrator kept me invested the whole way through.

Now let’s talk about that moment. The two finally hook up, and not five minutes later they’re both mentally planning for potential parenthood. Like… ma’am, sir, do you need a refresher on how pregnancy works? It was definitely a “wait, what?” moment—but oddly charming in its sincerity. And thankfully, no surprise baby by the end (though they’re clearly leaving the door open).

Overall, it’s a feel-good listen with just enough heat to make you blush and just enough heart to keep you rooting for their future. Great for fans of steamy small-town setups, reformed SEALs, and characters who love hard and fall fast—even if they occasionally skip a biology class or two.

That's not how pregnancy works

Sorry: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fun story although a bit far fetched
How great a chance it is a billionaire buys the property you grew up and is willing to gift it to you? How big is the chance childhood friends return home at exactly the same time?
If you’re willing to accept these facts, this book might be for you.

Characters: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We get to meet an entire crew of interesting people

Nice flow, good pace

Noah Michael Levine: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
One of my favorite (male) narrators. A good narrator is a voice actor who will slip into the role of each character. Mr. Levine is an star at that!

Fun, entertaining but far fetched

Why o why was she so freaking frustrating! She wasn’t thinking of anything but the past and she let a lot of her emotions rule the way she acted. Instead of being level headed she let her past color the present. The male lead was better at understanding emotions and moving forward. Maybe it’s because he’s a bit older and gone through more trauma but still! I expected more from this female lead.

I LIKED THE MAN MORE THAN THE WOMAN?!

I am at a loss of words to describe ...the publisher owes me for the time spent with this utterly absurd spew of insanity. Beyond fantastical into stupidity and Completely infuriating .

what was the publisher thinking?,
