Publisher's Summary

It’s Christmas in New York, and the lone wolf is about to go AWOL for love....

Navy SEAL Murphy Coen should be celebrating the upcoming holidays with friends and family, but with his sister, Aileen, missing, there’s not much for Murph to feel thankful for. To find Aileen, he’s fully prepared to use force, until an unexpected encounter has him rethinking his tactics. Shayma, his friend Daveed’s former fiancée, is sexy as hell, and something about her soothes his wayward soul. The brunette bombshell claims she can help, but Murph’s never been known for his patience. The clock is ticking, and he isn’t sure Shayma won’t get in the way of doing what he needs to do.

After ending her engagement to the man chosen by her father, Shayma bint Amr Kahlan has been enjoying the sights of New York City...and her ex’s best friend Murphy. The menacing military man has the dark, brooding thing down, but Shayma is certain his temper will lead to trouble - trouble his friends don’t want him in. When Daveed offers to promote her father if she can keep Murph in check while he and Heath secretly search for Aileen, Shayma sees a chance to help...and get back in her father’s good graces. She’s happy to prevent Murphy from getting out of hand. Besides, sometimes, it takes a softer touch to get what you want.

Shayma and Murphy’s chemistry may be undeniable, but as the stakes get higher, can Murphy open himself up to love? Or will he be forced to choose between Shayma and finding his sister?

A Happy Ending, But Still A Cliffhanger?

I'm usually able to jump into a Leslie North book even if it isn't the first in the series and get along just fine - this was the first time that I think having read the first book first would have helped a lot. That being said, as per usual, the author does a fantastic job giving her characters depth and a good backstory so that they are relatable and sympathetic. It did feel a bit like I was starting in the middle of the story and the fact that the overarching mystery is not resolved at the end of the book makes me think that perhaps I did (because maybe the action truly does begin in the first book). I did like Shayma - she was independent, intelligent, and strong, but willing to put herself out there and be vulnerable for love. Murphy is loyal and stubborn to a fault, but he too was able to recognize love (even if he almost let it get away). I was a bit disappointed that we don't find out what happened to his sister by the end of the book. Perhaps it's revealed in a subsequent volume? If so, that's sort of genius on LN's part. The narrator does an excellent job of giving each character a distinctive voice and accent (though it took me a while to get used to the way he depicted Shayma) and he really kept me engaged with the story. I'll definitely be on the lookout for book 3! 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

Loved the story

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was another good story. I enjoyed it. The chemistry between the characters was fun to listen to. I liked several of the secondary characters as well.

Great holiday listen!

A strong heroine and a gruff hero paired with a great storyline made this a fantastic listen. DC Cole did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

A Sister Missing, A Stubborn Man and An Ex-Fiancée

Murphy’s sister is missing and his two military buddies are helping him look. Shayma is forgoing, once engaged to one of Murphy’s buddies ( a prearranged engagement) Of his buddies, one friend is now engaged to the other’s ex fiancée and now Murphy is attracted to Shayma, one of his other friends ex fiancée. Sounds confusing, but it isn’t...all in the first book...but none of this is as important as Murphy’s hint for his sister and fighting his feelings against love.
Well written, entertaining, sweet, romantic and worth your time...
The narrator does a perfect job with feelings, timing and pace.
Waiting to see what happens with Murphy’s sister and the last man of the trio..will he find love as well.
Second book in the series, can be a stand alone, but more depth if you read the first.

Great Christmas Story

This is the second book in the All I want for Christmas is… Series. The storyline is intriguing, suspenseful, sexy and steamy. I love Murphy and Shayma's story. And, of course, I love the Christmas spirit along the story. The narration is really well done, as always with DC Cole. He has the perfect voice for this seal's story. He also has done a great job with the accents. I enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Shayma never knew what hit her ...

Murph is a man with many talents. Perhaps that's what makes him complicated and fascinating at the same time. There's the devoted brother intent on finding his missing sister. The caring friend, who is always on call no matter the circumstance. The Seal, who can outsmart and with lethal force bring down his target. Lastly, there's Murphy, the man wallowing through a ton of emotional baggage and a tempting attraction that is leading down the road to collateral damage. Ms. North doesn't make it easy. Murph walks a fine line between fearless, endearing and jack - ***, but even at his most frustrating he's hard not to love. Shayma never knew what hit her, once she met the powerful force that is Murphy Coen

Cute Story With Great Narration

This was a cute, romance with some fun banter between the main characters that kept me entertained throughout. However I was, once again, disappointed that the mystery of the missing sister was not solved. The entire book seemed to be centered around the fact that the sister was missing and that Murphy was looking for her, however there is no resolution. Other than that, it was a fun story with likable characters. D.C. Cole’s narration was the highlight of the book. As usual he does an exemplary job with all the voices and emotions.
