Publisher's Summary

In this third and final book in the Edwardian Brides series, listeners are swept away to England and France in 1915. At this time the Ramsey family, their staff, and their friends face the dramatic challenges and losses of World War One, yet they also experience the hope and triumph that comes as they put their trust in God to carry them through. Penny Ramsey helps the family welcome a group of orphaned children to Highland Hall, but she soon discovers that caring for them is more difficult than she'd expected. She writes to Alex Goodwin, a daring British pilot who chases German Zeppelins across the sky over the front line in France, and longs for the day she will see him again.

Enjoyable and Inspiring

Enjoyed the many characters, some mature, some growing, some selfish, some wounded.
Held my interest throughout. Would read another by this author. I reread this after about a year, and enjoyed even more the second time.

Edifying!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This is my favorite of the series (although I’ve love all 3). Very well thought through characters, story and biblical solutions. Wonderfully edifying!

Inspiring story

World War I has been raging for some time and now is affecting the life of many in London, including young Penny Ramsey. She and her family are forced to move away from the city to her cousin William's estate, Highland Hall. I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series also- the Governess of Highland Hall and the Daughter of Highland Hall. History and romance intertwine in an inspirational story of bravery, love and faith. The audio reading of this brought me right in to the story. Highly recommend.

Action Packed! Heartwarming!

I loved it! This book certainly had a lot going on. Family drama, the struggles of war, healing more than just wounds. Great story of Faith, Hope and Love.

The narrator did an excellent job! So many accents &so much emotion. Very well done!

Just okay

This was my least favorite of the trilogy. Although this was Penelope’s story, the storyline with Alex dragged on and it was a bit far fetched that she fell for him after approximately three days and then he left for war. For some reason I never connected with Alex, I wish the author had provided Penny with a love interest that would give more purpose to her life.

I was more interested in Julia & William, Kate, Sarah and the unruly boys that were constantly fighting. Unfortunately there weren’t many storylines with Sarah, she is one of my favorite character’s from the series.
