Good listen

Interesting storyline. Reminded me a lot of Downton Abby. My only complaint: Narrators interpretation of the male voices made them all sound like gruff old men instead of dapper gentlemen and she also struggled with an American accent. However, still very enjoyable and good story.

Second time listening and was just as good!

Enjoyed this book / series so listening to it again! It was just as good as the first time!

So well written!

I’ve listened to so many of these type books, but this one had one of the most believable storylines. Nothing too pushed to make a drama or the romance work out. As a Christian I also really appreciated the strong faith and references to God throughout the book. I really enjoyed it and recommend all Christian women who live the Victorian era to give it a listen!

Not what I expected

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I thought this book would be as interesting as another trilogy set I ordered along the same theme lines. Unfortunately it didn't hold my interest the same way. The reading was a little grinding on my senses. The overall theme kept me thinking of "The Music Man" and wondering where the author got their story line. I made the mistake and bought all three, now I need to try and return the other two. My recommendation is ONLY buy the first and if you like it, then buy the remaining ones. I should have taken my own advice.

Very predictable.

What didn’t you like about Veida Dehmlow’s performance?

Her voice, while smooth listening in a female character, was irritating when trying to voice the male version. I really had a hard time listening to it.

Great story & excellent narator. Thank you for a clean heart warming book. Looking forward to the next bk in the series.
