Publisher's summary

"You betrayed your brother to steal a broken crown."

The kingdom stands on the brink of chaos. Atticus's grip on the realm is faltering, and as threats arise ever closer to home he is driven to increasingly desperate acts to hold onto power.

With Islor's fate now in the balance, Zander stands to defend the Rift from the oncoming Ybarisan army. With the king's forces scattered, he must risk unlikely new alliances.

And behind the walls of Ulysede, secrets wait for its new queen. Romeria knows that the paths of the hidden city will lead her to answers. But will they be enough to save the realm—or is their fate already sealed?

OMG so good! Can the next one be out already

Loving all the action and the new love story unfolding. The cliffhanger though, dying a little… All the different characters, I did get a little lost at times. Had to read the chapter title to see who was supposed to be speaking. Otherwise a wonderful story. Cannot get enough.

I am DISTRAUGHT

Listen. I preordered this after reading the first two and enjoying them. Then forgot about it until it showed up in my library. Naturally I had to reread the first two and then read this one and I went into this series not expecting much, and left yelling ‘No!’ Because I didn’t realize I was at the end of the book. I’m already anxious for book 4 and I can’t wait for it.
I really enjoy how each books adds more POVs. At first I was convinced I wasn’t going to be into it, but Elizabeth does a fantastic job at the many voices she can portray.
I can’t wait to see where this series goes.

Enthralling with a cliffhanger

I have been on a Tucker binge. Love this series and the layers of characters among this intriguing world. Narrator does a great job though I think having 2 - a male and female voice, is usually better. I can’t wait to read the 4th book. It will be so difficult to wait for September 2024!

Absolutely loved this

I almost didn't give this a listen because of a Reddit thread but needed something new to listen to. I'm so glad I took the chance because for me, this has everything that I want in a story. Adventure, new worlds, scary creatures, magic, romance, and buildup. The character development is amazing and the story overall is as well, I'm very excited for the 4th book next year.

Love this series. Gets even more complex this book and you get other characters perspectives

Really love this series. This book expands into other areas and characters. at times Romeria is a bit annoying with her choices that then put others in danger but I suppose that's her characters flaw and it propels the story forward.

Already dying for the next one…

First off, let me say, wonderful narration!

Elizabeth voices so many characters and they’re all distinct. That’s very impressive and made listening easy and a real treat!

This book is the longest so far, but it didn’t feel that way. The pacing was great. I can see how some might find it a little drawn out though. The chapters from Agatha didn’t add anything to the story and could have been left out, but I enjoyed the rest.

This book introduces POVs from many different characters. We get to hear Atticus’ POV and find out what’s happening in the castle while Romi and Zander are off doing their thing. I think it was very valuable because it added a whole new layer to the story and made me more emotionally invested. If it just stayed the Romi and Zander show, I probably would have gotten bored.

Relationships develop and strengthen between many characters in this addition and it was fun to see. The ending was abrupt and a bit anticlimactic after the build up. It’s gonna suck to wait another year or more for the next book. But I know it’ll be well worth it.

Love the multiple viewpoints

This series surprised me with how good it was. I enjoyed so many of the characters and the politics of their world. The first book wasn’t amazing, and the narrator was a little robotic, but the second and third books were really good and I enjoyed the voice actor. She has very distinguished voices for everyone and it was really enjoyable. This third book really develops more secondary characters and relationships that I think I liked more than the main characters storyline. I’m impressed. Can’t wait for the next book!!

Loved all the characters

This book was written, so great it kept me on my toes. I loved all the characters, and they really came to life with their own unique stories.

Pulls you in and keeps you invested

This single narrator does a good job of voicing the different characters found within, though some of the pronunciations and accents grate at times. The story itself is phenomenal and very plot heavy. It draws you in and keeps you invested in what happens next.
