En credible

I was born 8 years after the 2nd WW in Amsterdam and raised in Utrecht. I knew about the history of the saved children through the Jewish daycare center but this history was made so vivid written in a novel.

enchantingly told, moving story

a memorable book, the story of a American consular agent turned OSS agent in the Netherlands during World War who helped his Jewish children.

I enjoyed the fast pace &that the story was told by someone who loved the country & saved hundreds of children from the Nazis! This was unputdownable!

Hidden part of history

Loved the format of storytelling. Will bring about parts of World War II you may have never known.

Since I read his first book Once We were Brothers, I have loved this author. I love all of his books and hope he has started a new one.
