Discover the origins of Durzo Blint in this original novella set in the world of Brent Weeks’ New York Times best-selling Night Angel trilogy.

Gaelan Starfire is a farmer, happy to be a husband and a father; a careful, quiet, simple man. He’s also an immortal, peerless in the arts of war. Over the centuries, he’s worn many faces to hide his gift, but he is a man ill-fit for obscurity and all too often he’s become a hero, his very names passing into legend: Acaelus Thorne, Yric the Black, Hrothan Steelbender, Tal Drakkan, Rebus Nimble.

But when Gaelan must take a job hunting down the world’s finest assassins for the beautiful courtesan-and-crimelord Gwinvere Kirena, what he finds may destroy everything he’s ever believed in.

Performed by Dylan Lynch, David Coyne, Johann Dettweiler, Tim Getman, Karen Carbone, Michael Glenn, James Lewis, Joe Brack, Scott McCormick, Nanette Savard, Kimberly Gilbert, Mort Shelby, Richard Rohan, Ken Jackson, Terence Aselford.

I’m glad they offer these stories for free. I appreciate being able to know if this will be a worthy book to purchase rather than being dooped. Great start to a story that I hope stays exciting and interesting!

Found my next binge!

I read the Night Angel Series when I was in Junior High, and I thought I was the coolest kid on the planet. None of my friends had heard of it besides me and I quickly fell in love. Since then Brent Weeks has been my favorite Author of all time. Discovering this as an adult brought me nothing but pure joy. The Fantasy genre has been blessed by the existence of Brent Weeks in my opinion and this audio adaption captured my imagination all over again just like it did over 15 years ago. I actually wept at certain parts, great voice acting, great music, and great sound effects. I immediately bought all 4 books, couldn’t be happier. This book series is something I will share with my children when they are old enough, and the Night Angel legacy will live on in my family for over 700 years as those who have the Kakari within them. 💪🏼💪🏼🫶🏼🙌🏼

I actually have this book in print and enjoyed the story, however, the dramatization is not for me at all. I turned off within minutes of starting the book.

Story is good, dramatization is ugh

Story line and performance hard to follow. Sorry I listened. 15 word min is too much

Noise

I really liked the story, but the music and sound effects were too loud at parts to hear what was being read. Other times, they seemed to get louder for action scenes and just blasted through my earbud.
