Home Alone meets Mr & Mrs Smith

A heist, rival thieves, magical treasure, and banter for days? Yes, please. As soon as RF Kenney's books hit audio, I am listening, and this one was like going on a carnival ride. Such a fun read! This is the third book in the Mythic Holidays series, and while I do recommend listening in order for the full effect, you could still enjoy this one on its own. Devilry and Ravager are rival thieves both after the same treasure, which is located in a magical fortress hidden in the fae world. The setup alone had me hooked, but the character banter is what really made this shine. This book is described as Home Alone meets Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and honestly, that feels pretty accurate. I had so many laugh out loud moments in this book. It is very fast paced; I honestly could not turn the audiobook off until I listened to the whole thing.

The narration was fantastic. Since chapters are told from different character POVs, both narrators had to handle male and female voices within their chapters, and they both did an amazing job bringing the story and chemistry to life. Fun, magical, witty, and full of heist-y chaos- I had a great time with this one.
