I was looking foward to this one

Dark i didnt know what to expect but im left wondering what the next one in the sieries will be like.

One of the top books of read in my 900 book library. I almost never leave reviews.

Demonic Confusion

As an avid Dungeons & Dragons player, I was looking forward to this story. But oh my, it skipped around quickly to different viewpoints making it difficult to follow, and the reading of the character sheet at the beginning of every chapter became monotonous. The narrator did well, but the tangential plot twist at the end of Book 1 left me totally disinterested in what Kay happen to the protagonist in Book 2. I will guide my demons to read elsewhere.

I found this book to be pretty different from what I'm used to and I enjoyed it. I liked the narrator will definitely try and listen to him again. can't wait for the next book

Great Start of a Series

The world is evocative and horrifying, with themes of gore, war, treachery, and existentialism. The main character's journey is a grim tale to follow, but is fine for people used to darker fantasy. The biggest issue the book has is that many of demons described are eldritch in form and hard to imagine. When combined with obscure demonic names that sound like random syllables stringed together, it can be hard to keep a mental image of who's who. There are light litrpg elements such as a stat system and skill evolutions, but they take up very little of the book.
