Publisher's summary

Not all dukes are created equal. Most are upstanding members of society. And then there's the trio known as Their Dis-Graces.

Hugh Philemon Ancaster, seventh Duke of Ripley, will never win prizes for virtue. But even he draws the line at running off with his best friend's bride. All he's trying to do is recapture the slightly inebriated Lady Olympia Hightower and return her to her intended bridegroom.

For reasons that elude her, bookish, bespectacled Olympia is supposed to marry a gorgeous rake of a duke. The ton is flabbergasted. Her family's ecstatic. And Olympia? She's climbing out of a window, bent on a getaway. But tall, dark, and exasperating Ripley is hot on her trail, determined to bring her back to his friend. For once, the world-famous hellion is trying to do the honorable thing.

So why does Olympia have to make it so deliciously difficult for him?

Great Entertainment

This was the first book from Ms. Chase that I listened to. I was not disappointed. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard listening to a audio book. Olympia (the heroine of the story) kept me in stitches. So did Ripley (hero) and all the other characters in this book. OMG. The banter and situations in which Olympia and Ripley find themselves is so hilarious. Olympia decides she needs air prior to her marriage to a duke. She panics and drinks a little bit more brandy than she should and ends up on a merry chase through the outskirts of London.

Very good

I do not review many books but I have to say this was a good book. The narrator was sooo good. This lady has what it takes to keep you listening. She and the book fit together like a hand in a glove.

humorous scenerios and well- planned plot.

Chase proves once again that she can tell a riveting story, add humor and characters with depth and keep it up until a satisfying ending. I love the narrator, Katie Reading, her voices are so varied. she does the best low, male hero voice as well as filling out the heroine with expression. I will be reading, or rather listening, to this one again. I can't wait to hear about these characters again.

Each book better than the last! 5+ stars!

Another wonderful book by Loretta Chase.. Both of the main characters are likable with their strengths and weaknesses and great senses of humor. A wonderful, fun read where you can escape from life and just relax for awhile.

Best Ever!

I think every new story by Loretta Chase is the best ever but this was so delightful, humorous, wonderful, PERFECT, that I truly think this is her best yet and just think what that is saying after all her previous, wonderful books! I am sorry to gush so but this audio deserves it. There is a perfect match when Ms. Chase writes and Kate Reading narrates. Absolutely perfect. I truly didn't want it to end. The story and characters are a complete delight and I will be listening to it again soon.

Ms. Reading is one of my favorite narrators and this is a perfect example of why. Every emphasis is perfect to the situation, the dry humor comes across perfectly and I had tears in my eyes at the endearing Duke and his wonderful bluestocking.

What a wonderful, wonderful story. For anyone who enjoys historical romance, this is a must read/listen. Can't wait for the next one and hope it comes soon!

What a pure delight of a story!

I simply adored everything about this story. It had much originality; yet it had enough connections to the things we love about Regency HEA novels. The characters were familiar enough to be comfortable for the reader, yet just didn't enough to make it hard to put the book down (or in case of this version, turn off). A lovely balance of po predictable and unpredictable. This was my first experience with a Loretta Chase novel, and it will most definitly not be the last !

Fabulous story with laugh out loud moments

This was such a great story. The characters were deep but made you laugh. The dialogue was hilarious. Olympia is strong and holds her own with the Duke. What I like so much about this story, besides the humor, is that both characters are trying to do the right thing while still being true to themselves. It's refreshing that there's no villain or contrived overblown scenes. This story deals with relationships and figuring out the right course, all done with wonderful finesse!
