Publisher's summary

The New York Times and USA Today best-selling authors Heidi McLaughlin and L.P. Dover come together for a sexy new series that delivers romance for every season!

Kiss the Blarney Stone, because Hope Dunn is going to need some good ole fashion Irish luck! In the chaos of tax season, the Arizona accountant is pulled away to stand in her cousin’s wedding. All it takes is one step back in the Big Apple and she regrets making the trip.

True to character, her mother uses their time together to hound Hope about getting married and settling down. Still, Hope fulfills her bridesmaid obligations by joining the bridal party for a shamrock wearing, pint chugging St. Paddy’s day blow out. There, she runs into best man—and smokin’ hot ginger—Kellan Townsend. Far too much green beer later, she finds out exactly what that fine Irish lad keeps under his kilt.

Afterwards, Hope wants nothing more than to walk of shame her way into a dark room and nurse her hangover. Unfortunately, wedding demands won’t allow it. As if facing Kellan isn’t awkward enough, her mother picks that moment to launch into a fresh guilt-trip over her lack of grandbabies.

Like a lucky little Leprechaun, Kellan cuts in with a magical offer. A pretend romance to get her mother off her back seems like a wish granted. But Kellan has an agenda all his own. Can he use this opportunity to jig his way straight into Hope’s heart? Or will he need a four-leaf clover to get past this workaholic’s defenses?

I liked it.

This was a cute, short, fast-paced story I liked, but i felt there wasn't enough development between the main characters. Amelia Mendez's narration was well-done.

Charming!

This series of dating novellas is cute, sweet and sexy. A Date For Good Luck is the story of a Saint Patrick's wedding, with the bells and whistles of an Irish wedding party. Hope is back in New York City for her cousin's wedding. She's an accountant in Phoenix and it's tax season, so she brought her work along. Her mother is up in arms because Hope would rather work than look for and marry an eligible bachelor. Her mom makes no bones about the fact that she wants grandbabies, and she wants them now! Kellan's best friend is getting married to Hope's cousin and they have a past. They've both admired and crushed on each other in high school. When he hears Hope's mother pestering her about finding her a date, he steps in and does the "gentlemanly thing" of telling her that he's Hope's date! And it couldn't have gone any better since they have a chance to sit down, talk about their shared feelings and make the decision that it's going to be a night to remember. There is a lot of emotion, very little angst and a satisfying conclusion that makes them both happy. I have to admit that Kellan's desire to compromise, to work things out and to travel to Phoenix to see if he could move to be with Hope were exactly what the perfect book boyfriend would do. His reaction to life in Arizona was hilarious and so true.
Amelia Mendez did a wonderful job with the narration. Her clear, dynamic voice and excellent accent brought each of the characters to life.

4 stars

I liked this one so far. Hope and Kellan are just cute on how they met as they're somewhat acquainted due to members of the wedding party. Hope just wants her mom off her back about finding someone so she can get grandbabies. I just wished this one was longer.

Cute next chance at a first time

Kellen and Hope come to be in each others orbit agin after years apart. Hope lives across the country and is home for a wedding. She needs a date that is not a setup from her mother. Kellen just happens to be there. The two know of each other. Kelley has always wanted a chance with the girl out of his league.

Use to Amelia and her style on the series. Thanks for your work.

Cute Story

This one wasn't my favorite of this series. It takes place in Ney York at St. Patrick's Day and it says that they dye the Hudson green. I don't think that's true. That's Chicago. It kind of took me out of the story from the get go. However, I'm not really reading these for the accuracy. I'm here for a cute romance. And it was cute. But, I don't understand how anyone would rather live in Arizona than New York City, So, I did have some trouble relating. The ending was super cute though and one of my favorites!

The narration was delightful. A strength was the different characters and I was able to recognize each one immediately. One issue for me was that the male POV was supposed to have an Irish accent and he did not, It was mentioned multiple times and it once again took me out of the story. But, I don't think it made sense for him to have one because it seemed like he grew up in New York. So I'm probably putting too much thought into it.

Overall, it was fun but not my favorite of the series.
