Sweet and Sexy

Well written, sometimes sweet and other times HOT! The storyline is one of not come across before which is a very welcome change.

Also, the banter will make laugh. Especially, the kitchen scene in the epilogue.

A wonderful love story

This was an amazing book. So well written. The character development was on spot. The story was heartfelt and realistic. It’s a must listen/read.

I’m especially excited to see where Root takes these characters in the upcoming books. I was so taken by the story that I immediately ordered a paperback copy—not just because I loved the cover, but also because this is a story I want to revisit again and again.

Lillia Green, the narrator of this audiobook, was a new voice for me, and I must admit, it took a little time to get accustomed to her performance. However, once I settled into her style, I found her narration to be enjoyable overall. Green brought a distinctiveness to each character, making it easy to follow the story and stay immersed in the world Root created. I particularly appreciated the little extras added to the audio experience—like sound effects when characters were texting and subtle changes in sound when they were speaking on the phone. These touches added a layer of immersion that enhanced the overall experience.

Awesome Debut!

I’ve had this on my tbr for quite a while. I’m so glad I decided to pick it up and give it a listen! I was recently reminded that this was the author’s first novel and it was lovely. Sam had wonderful growth, even with the one step forward two steps back that occurred due to fear but she had some great support as well as getting herself back that was simply honest, messy and quite relatable. Her connection with Anna went even deeper then they realized giving fate or soulmates vibes.

I read Always Emilie first ... apparently, I missed that this was a series. No regrets, though, because I knew I was going to enjoy all the books!

If you were like me and read Always Emilie first, then you'll be happy to know that this is Sam and Anna's story. I love this little world that Alyson Root has created with all these great characters.

I don't really have to talk about this story much, just that it's a heartwarming, steamy, toaster oven, in-the-stars romance - and I really enjoyed it!

Lillian Green was an excellent as narrator 👏👏👏

Pretty Good

Liked the plot of the story. The writing itself could get a bit redundant or wordy at times & the narrator was a bit lackluster when it came to the intimate scenes. She just talks through them as if the characters are having a normal conversation sitting on a couch even when they are clearly described as being engaged in something. I felt this was a bit strange as there are sound effects for things like texting or voices changed to make it sound like a character is actually talking through a door or on the other line of a phone and all this other extra effort was put in so it comes off as a bit off-putting in those few instances but the rest of her reading was good.

I was not impressed with this book. I am not sure I will continue with this series.
