Publisher's summary

There's nothing a Christmas kiss won't cure. Except perhaps a shattered heart....

When Emmanuelle Sumter steps off the train in Cherish, South Carolina - a town simply glowing with the promise of Christmas - she finds herself praying God will help her find the broken pieces of her life. Shattered, like her beloved harp, her dreams, and her trust in men.

Her friend Dorothy told her Cherish is a safe haven. But she never expected Dorothy's brother, Deputy Nicholas Thompson, would relight the one thing she thought she'd lost forever: a spark of hope.

Not long ago, while Nicholas' sister was in rehab, Emmanuelle's voice and smile on his Skype screen held him together. After that, she seemed to disappear, an absence he felt keenly when his ex-fiancée left his faith in God dented but not broken.

Now she's in Cherish, even more stunning in person. Yet she's holding tight to a private pain she refuses to reveal. Nicholas resolves to be patient, vowing he'll never let anyone hurt her again. Even when her past rears its ugly head to destroy what's left of her heart.

Note: Contains references to verbal and physical abuse.

From USA Today best-selling author Josie Riviera comes a new contemporary Christian romance series set in the small town of Cherish, South Carolina. These sweet and wholesome stories, where God is at the center, brim with love and laughter.

Are his arms a safe haven sent from God...or a Christmas promise waiting to be broken?

Great story

I enjoyed listening to this fantastic story. Emmanuelle was in an abusive marriage & got out. She feared for her life & refused to go anywhere alone. Nicholas was nursing a broken heart after his fiance’ left. They developed a friendship and eventually gave in to their feelings. Anthea Hallett-Ybarra does a phenomenal job narrating this book & bringing the characters to life.

Christmas Romance

I really enjoyed this audio book and the narrator does a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoy a good Christmas story and this fit the bill. There was romance, of course, a bit of mystery, and a dash of danger. The characters are well written and interesting to listen to as the story unfolds. This is a great story.

Sweet Christmas Novella

I listened to the audio book of this novella and enjoyed it. This was a sweet Christmas story with two main characters who were easy to like. I appreciated Nicholas' understanding of Emmanuelle. As a deputy, he recognized that she had experienced some sort of trauma and was patient with her. I also liked that these two had known each other through skype calls a year earlier. They could both see that events of the past year had affected each of them, however, they already had a connection to each other that was able to grow into more in the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Sweet Christmas story

I thought the story well written. There is the problem of an abusive man in Emmanuelle's life that she has to get over. Nicholas is a very patient, sensitive man, just right for her. The narrator is good but her voice for Emmanuelle is the same sweetness throughout the story, even when Emmanuelle tells about her ex, George & the awful way it was. There was never any sadness which didn't seem real. I received a free copy from the author.

Merry Christmas

A Christmas To Cherish
: Josie Riviera

This is a short, sweet, clean Christmas romance. Emmanuelle Sumter arrives in Cherish to visit her newly married friend, Dorothy. She's also looking to hide out from an abusive ex. Dorothy's brother Nicholas, who was dumped by his fiancee on their wedding day, had a long distance friendship with Emmanuelle. Now the two are enjoying getting to know each other in person, as well as trying to regaling their faltering faith. A major event has them spending time together. Will they find happily ever after? The listener will hang on until the end to find out.

The narration was OK. The characters were well portrayed for the most part, by Anthea Hallett-Ybarra.

Beautifully written and narrated

This story is well written and sweet. The narrator's voice truly fit the story she was reading and made the story come to life. The characters have their issues but are truly in search of God's plan for them. This book is everything a Christian romance should be! Well done!

Nicholas & Emmanuelle

Nicholas and Emmanuelle have their own relationship issues, and this is their story. I do not know why Emmanuelle is scared of police officers. Her name rhyming with the dog's name is off putting. The narrator delivers Emmanuelle's lines in the same tone, no matter the intentioned emotion.
