Rev. Dr. Steve Burt, the Congregational minister known as The Christmas Story Pastor, has been sharing his emotional holiday stories--modern parables revealing the true meaning of Christmas - for 40 years in print and in read-aloud programs. Millions have heard him read his stories on radio and television, with millions more seeing them in Family Circle or the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Here are 12 of his best, read by the Christmas Story pastor himself. Don't listen without a handkerchief.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Christmas Dozen to be better than the print version?

It's like hearing them read by the author on radio again. Only took 13 years to get it as a read-aloud in the author's voice. Powerful stories like these evoke the meaning of Christmas without being preachy. One was in Chicken Soup and another in Family Circle, but those were print, not audio.

What did you like best about this story?

12 stories offer a variety of ways to grasp the meaning of Christmas.

Which scene was your favorite?

Freight train coming through at end of Thumb Island Elephants.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

One sitting or 12, since there are 12 stories.

Finally, from great book to great audio book!

A dozen stories read by the author will become a new Christmas tradition for your family. Gracious, funny, quirky and heart warming tales that will touch you and yours and help you remember the reason for the season. I wish the others were available on Audible.
