Reading this with my boss

I am the Executive Asst. to the CEO of a well known law firm in Georgia and he asked me to read this book with him so we can discuss it and use it as a guide to make some internal changes.

I have listened to the book 6 times and I am now marking up my hard copy as I delve into the pages. This is so easy to read and listen to. The information provided is rich and written with intentional thoughts and suggestions that you can make your own and because it is applicable to your business.

The information has challenged me professionally (because I am way more than an EA) but also personally. It’s almost like Trey has taken what has been in my head, that I’ve not been able to communicate and written them out just the way I would’ve if I had found the words.

Great book! Great applicable content.

A little slow but a definite good read

Loved the information and I learned quite a bit when it comes to running a company in the ways that would reap the benefits for all members

Back to the basics

I enjoyed how the author breaks down the three pillars in a way that’s very understandable for someone looking for cues of how to function in this role

Great Real-World Advice

This book does a great job of describing the traits of being a CEO and the issues faced by both small and large organizations. It never felt like I was listening a purely academic lesson, but rather real-world scenarios that every leader will face at some point. Highly recommended.

Some good ideas and worth the read.

There are some good tips on culture, interviews, reviewing your team, etc. Nothing that blew my mind but a few items that I found different and beneficial from other books.

Crackling audio + theoretical topic

Audio crackles in the first chapters. He really needs to re-record it. Also, while the overall advice is good… as he mentions it’s not original advice, but too many theoretical and ‘idealised’ statements. Not good for startups, maybe ok for a company that is already big. Not too interesting of a book / listen.
