Son of the shaman is a shaman - but what of the daughters?

When Otto Krugg's daughter follows in his footsteps, he's faced with the task of changing a century-long rule that will force her to make decisions no one should have to make.

When Jimmy Pirano gets tasked with enforcing that rule - no matter what - he goes down the rabbit hole to try to find out who established the rule...and why they can't let it go.

The publisher calls this space opera but that isn't quite right. That suggests a more dramatic story. This is a series that keeps me coming back for the characters. Stuff happens but mostly it is about the world and it's people.

A worthy addition to the series

excellent background on a character from The solar clipper series. well done on tying Sarah's story into what was already written in the tales of the solar clipper.

nice background story

This one was a bit repetitive. and I don't like the big time gaps in the story.

I am looking forward to the next one

Nathan Lowell’s books are always a joy to listen to. This one fills in some gaps in a character introduced awhile back.

Another excellent book from Nathan Lowell

perfect introduction to how Sarah Krug got on the Lois McKendrick. I think Sarahs punishing otto was misdirected and rushed at the end though.

I'm actually hoping that there's a third book in this series that follows Otto and changes in the shamans. and also to explain the original history of the welkies.

perfect introduction to half share
