Summary

From bestselling author Ruth Reid comes an Amish romance where a resilient heroine, a reformed troublemaker, and a looming danger collide in a story of faith, healing, and unexpected love.

Muscle weakness has left Grace Wagler with a broken body--and her childhood best friend has left her with a broken heart. She can hold her own in the timber camp (and do everything else the other women in Badger Creek can do), but in an Amish district where women outnumber men three to one, marriage is an unlikely prospect for a girl with bad legs.

Ben Eicher just arrived in Michigan from Pinecraft, Florida. When his most recent shenanigans proved too much for his daed's patience, Ben was sent to the Upper Peninsula to work in the lumber camp--and he's neither proud of his behavior nor thrilled about his new home.

But when Ben meets Grace, the struggling young woman quickly piques his curiosity. Of course, the last thing Grace wants is another friendship with a man who pities her. Tired of physical pain and romantic dead ends, Grace is ready to leave Badger Creek for the muscle specialist in Ohio, even if it contradicts her father's wishes . . . and Ben's.

Meanwhile, two dangerous men have found their way into the district. It isn't long before their unsavory plans ensnare Grace and Ben in a chase that will not only endanger their lives . . . but test their love.

Perfect for readers who want more from their romance, A Woodland Miracle is an Amish romance with a unique lumber camp setting, disability representation, and an element of suspense that makes this read hard to put down!

Great story.
Tense in many ways.
Covers many themes: Maturing in God awareness and personal relationship, parent child struggles, mental illness, criminal activity, amish English contacts.
Not for the squeamish.
Romantic Amish novel with reliance on God, but includes violence and bonnet ripper situations.

Tense, not for the squeamish!

Spoiler alert 😉...I wasn't sure about getting this audible book... with the weird/poor review from one reviewer, but I'm glad I did. I felt it honored the Amish, and more importantly, honored God in the way it spoke of faith, human frailty, forgiveness, and hope. The kidnapping section with the special needs individual was something that I could actually see happening in real life, especially with all the things happening in the world right now...it even had me on the edge of my seat several times, trying to tell the characters what to do (like a good mystery lol). I'm glad I listened all the way through! (make sure to listen to the epilogue at the end, as it contains the remainder of the story ; > )

Beautifully written story 😊

This was the most ridiculous story I've ever read. The "kidnapping" was totally unrealistic. The book is a disgrace to the Amish. Total waste of time.

Wish book I've ever read
