There's something very charming and warm about Wil Wheaton's narration voice that allows this book and really any book he narrates to be so inviting and relatable. The content of this story was great. It had me guessing where the plot would turn next, and the complexity and unpredictability of Alaska's character is what kept me reeled in. While I kind of guessed what the twist would be that would resolve the main conflict at the end of the book, I definitely did not see the second twist coming. Satisfying ending and great story.

Loved it

This book is a small gift. Not what I expected, at all. I wasn’t sure I needed a coming of age story, but I was in a reading slump and I thought why not. The story is worth the read, not happy, but not depressing but elements of both.

Not at all what I expected

Much is made about the incredibly tame “sex scenes” of this book. The thing is, sex is not what’s being sold here. It’s about teen angst over love and yresponsibility. About the power of friendships and the merits of loyalty and duty and scholarship.
It even warns us all about the power of strong drink.

A great book about the Great Perhaps
