時の帝桐壺は、それほど身分の高くない桐壺更衣を寵愛し、二人の間には輝くような美しい皇子が生まれた。しかし、桐壺更衣は他の女たちの嫉妬や嫌がらせを受け、また病気がちであったために三歳の皇子を残して病死してしまう。
その死を嘆き悲しむ帝であったが、亡き桐壺更衣の生き写しのような先帝の皇女藤壺が入内し、帝の寵愛を受けることとなる。そして、帝のもとで育てられてい た皇子は、亡き母によく似ているということで藤壺をことさらに慕うようになった。
その後、元服した皇子は臣下として源の姓を与えられ、左大臣家の娘葵の上と結婚する。彼はその光り輝くような姿の美しさから、いつしか光源氏と呼ばれるようになった。

その後、元服した皇子は臣下として源の姓を与えられ、左大臣家の娘葵の上と結婚する。彼はその光り輝くような姿の美しさから、いつしか光源氏と呼ばれるようになった。

江守徹さんのハリーポッター朗読とどうしても比べてしまいますが。そちらの方が発揮があったように思います。でも、秘密の部屋までしかないので、それ以降のハリーポッターの朗読が聞けることは風間さんには心より感謝しています。秘密の部屋の後がお楽しみです。I bought Emori Toru's CD version years ago, but it finished after book 2. So happy to hear the complete series. Great translation and good Japanese learning tool.

Learning Japanese With This Audiobook
I highly recommend using Harry Potter audiobooks for language learning. The Harry Potter series has been translated into some 75 languages. I'm uncertain how many have been made into audiobooks, but I'm very VERY glad that the Japanese audiobook has been produced. The Japanese translator was bilingual and very familiar with both cultures. This wasn't a mere literal translation. For the audiobook, the narrator did 田舎 accents for the rustic characters, and Japanese-posh accents where needed.
I didn't know 1 word of Japanese in March 2019, when I began to study it. I listened to the audiobook most days of 2020 and 2021 as I feel asleep and awoke. At first only some character names made themselves known But now (March 2022), I know enough to hear where in the audiobook I am, and I can locate the exact passage in my written Japanese copy (with a hint of which chapter and approximately how far into the chapter). I drill Japanese Vocabulary daily, but haven't worked on the 6000-word vocabulary list specific to this book.
