Jack Sommers is a young, battle hardened pilot flying low level attacks into occupied France. After an operation fails he argues with his commanding officer and is posted away from combat. He fears being side-lined into a dull job but discovers he has been selected to carry out special operations over Norway. It’s a dangerous job requiring expert airmanship. There is no margin for error, engine failure, bad weather, navigational mistakes and enemy fighters are all constant dangers.
