  • Episode 6: Put your oxygen mask on and flex that core
    Aug 7 2022

On this episode of the HH I introduce you to Melissa Paris (@melissaparisfitness) who is the cofounder of @bellsuptv . Melissa is a master at sharing the practical ways we can elevate our lives through her easy to learn movements with kettlebells and most importantly, incorporating a love of fitness and health into parenting.

Melissa's journey into wellness began when she chose to use her mother's struggle with health and death as the "fire" and inspiration to create a business focused on helping women build a better life for themselves with a foundation of strength and the importance of including your children in on your daily routine, especially when working out.

We discuss everything from what lessons she's learned as a parent (the need to "know yourself"), doing less to be more, postpartum myth busting, breath work, pelvic floor strength and why life is just easier when you're strong.

Check out this episode, especially if you're a momma, parent, or just listen because it's a chance to learn . . . and that's always cool.

  • Episode 5: A dirty conversation about regenerative agriculture
    Aug 6 2022

On this episode I chat with Kristyn Emmer (@emmerandearth) owner of Emmer and Earth, a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, soil advocate, and podcast host. Kristyn is passionate about soil (spoiler: soil is alive and dirt is dead) and regenerative agriculture and enjoys educating others about the connection between functional medicine, our overall health and the health of our earth. We discuss everything from hormones to farmers to Salem Sue (she thicc).

Kristyn shared that the best nutritional label you can find, is having a conversation with your local farmer and not the standard label on the side of most foods found in the store. Farmers are truly the stewards of the land they cultivate and when we support them, we're supporting their efforts to restore the soil, raise cattle (cows are not the problem) and build a healthier earth.

I learned so much from this episode, and I'm sure you will too! Check it out! And don't forget to leave a review.

Et cetera, et cetera and some more show notes . . .
