  • Healing Trauma and Building Resilience: Dr. Pamela Arnell of 22ZERO
    Mar 11 2026
Tonight, on The Mark White Show, Dr. Pamela Arnell, President and CEO of 22ZERO, joins us to talk about the organization’s mission to help veterans, first responders, and their families heal from trauma. 22ZERO focuses on peer-to-peer programs and resiliency training designed to address the emotional impact of traumatic experiences. During our conversation, Dr. Arnell shares her personal journey with the organization, why she believed it was important to pursue independent academic research on the program’s success, and how that effort led to a study published by Arizona State University in August 2024. Additional studies are now in peer review, and new research is being launched through a partnership with the University of Alabama. This conversation highlights the growing effort to better understand trauma recovery and expand resources for those who have dedicated their lives to serving others. On this Make A Difference Minute, Jewell Brown shares the early chapter of her journey with kidney disease. As a child, she learned that her kidneys were not functioning properly due to reflux that eventually blocked them completely. What began as a medical struggle in her earliest years would become a lifelong journey of resilience, faith, and determination. Jewell reflects on growing up with serious health challenges and the path that ultimately led to her first kidney transplant in 2005, when her mother became her living donor. That gift of life allowed Jewell to raise her sons, return to work, and experience the joy of becoming a grandmother. Today, as she faces end stage kidney failure again and searches for another living donor, Jewell’s story reminds us that behind every medical condition is a person, a family, and a life filled with moments worth fighting for. • Be Jewell’s Lifeline
    Mar 7 2026
On this edition of The Mark White Show, I'm talking with Jewell Brown, a mother and grandmother who is courageously living with end stage kidney failure and searching for a living kidney donor. Twenty years ago, Jewell received a kidney transplant from her mother, a gift that allowed her to raise her sons, build a life, and become the proud Mimi of three grandchildren. That transplant gave her years she is deeply grateful for. Now, as that kidney begins to fail, Jewell faces the difficult reality of daily dialysis while hoping someone will step forward to give her another chance at life. In this conversation, Jewell shares what life is really like while waiting for a transplant, the physical and emotional challenges of kidney failure, and the hope she holds onto as she continues her search for a living donor. This episode is a reminder that sometimes the simplest act, sharing a story, can help connect someone in need with the person who can change their life.
