  • Lisa Wilkinson breaks her silence
    Apr 11 2026

Across more than four decades as a journalist and television presenter, Lisa Wilkinson has told plenty of compelling stories. But in the past five years, she has spent more time making headlines than reading them.

Now, Lisa sits down for her first interview in more than four years to unpack the personal toll of the legal battles that have consumed her life since June 2022, and discuss the unlikely project she threw herself into during that tumultuous time: a new book she has written about a woman named Evelyn Marsden, the only Australian-born survivor of the Titanic disaster.

In this episode of the Stellar podcast, Lisa opens up about how digging into Evelyn’s life story helped her put the adversities she was facing into perspective. She also answers the question: would she have done anything differently in the five years since her headline-making interview with Brittany Higgins went to air on The Project? Plus: Lisa sets the record straight about her departure from that show in November 2022.

Lisa’s new book, The Titanic Story Of Evelyn, is on sale from Tuesday, April 14.

  • Twenty years after Idol, Jessica Mauboy can’t forget the body shaming
    Mar 28 2026

When a 16-year-old Jessica Mauboy stood on a makeshift stage in the middle of the desert for her Australian Idol audition, she was just a shy kid from Darwin with a massive voice. Within a few years, she was catapulted from the Top End to the top of the charts.

Earlier this year, Jessica returned to the Australian Idol stage – this time as a mentor, stepping in to fill Kyle Sandilands’ empty chair. But she hasn't forgotten the hurdles she faced or the comments about her body, which she now sees through an entirely different lens.

In this episode of the Stellar podcast, she explains how Kyle’s bluntness helped her develop thick skin at a young age, what was behind her decision to leave her long-time record label and become her own "boss lady", and how her husband Themeli Magriplis and their 14-month-old daughter Mia keep her grounded through it all.

  • Amber Sherlock thinks TV still isn’t ready for women over 50
    Mar 21 2026

In November last year, newsreader and weather presenter Amber Sherlock was let go from her role at the Nine Network, an announcement that made headlines and had paparazzi camped outside her house.

Suddenly, after almost 20 years at the network, Amber found herself without the security of a full-time job, only three weeks ahead of her 50th birthday.

Now, she is looking towards the future and establishing her next step in a rapidly changing media landscape – and an industry she believes still treats men and women very differently.

On this episode of the Stellar podcast, Amber talks for the first time about her shock departure from a job she thought was safe, how she feels about #jacketgate 10 years on and, given this is the first time she hasn't worked in her adult life, the benefits of no longer being a “shift worker”.

You can find out more about Amber Sherlock via her Instagram.

  • Melanie C on sexism, ageism and the Spice Girls’ group chats
    Mar 14 2026

Thirty years ago this July, a catchy song called ‘Wannabe’, sung by a then-unknown pop group called the Spice Girls, hit radio airwaves – and a global phenomenon was born.

For Melanie C, who was just 22 at the time and one-fifth of the group that brought “girl power” to a new generation, the sudden blast of “Spice mania” was intoxicating, intimidating and ultimately short-lived.

Three decades later, Melanie is a successful solo artist who has also found her groove touring the world as a DJ, she is a coach on The Voice Australia, and she remains close to all of her former bandmates.

On this episode of the Stellar podcast, Melanie opens up about what really goes on in group chats with her fellow Spice Girls, explains how her upcoming album and world tour hark back to her early days as a raver, and explains how finding love with an Australian helped her grow more comfortable with work/life balance. Plus, she answers the eternal question: could the Spice Girls someday make their way here for their first-ever Australian shows?

  • Astronauts, trolls and aliens: 2026 Australian of the Year
    Mar 7 2026

Like many of us, Katherine Bennell-Pegg grew up with a dream of one day becoming an astronaut.

But unlike most childhood dreamers, Katherine actually achieved hers. On January 25 this year, she was named the 2026 Australian of the Year for her trailblazing contribution to the Australian space industry.

In this episode of the Stellar podcast, Katherine opens up about the decades of sacrifice it took to get here, what she really thinks about the criticism of her Australian of the Year win, and why she believes you don't need to leave Earth to change the world.

    Feb 28 2026

For more than a decade, Rove McManus was one of the most familiar faces on Australian TV.
