  • Relaxation for overcoming fear of falling: Building confidence and reducing anxiety about fall-related concerns
    Mar 10 2025

When a person experiences a fall, it can create anxiety about doing activities because the individual might worry about falling again. This fear of falling can result in increased caution and decreased activity, both of which can actually increase the likelihood of another fall. This guided imagery relaxation for overcoming fear of falling focuses on reducing feelings of nervousness to decrease concerns about falling. It includes calm breathing, muscle relaxation, and calming self-talk to increase confidence and help you get back to being active.

    Jul 14 2024

This calming relaxation was written for my dogs, who like listening to my podcast when they are home alone. This one hour 20 minute version has no repetition and voice only (silent background). Helpful for dogs with separation anxiety or who like to listen to calm audio in the background when left alone, or for humans looking for a calm, slow, long relaxation to play as they fall asleep.

  • 4-hour Calming Relaxation for Dog Separation Anxiety (voice only)
    Jul 7 2024

This calming relaxation is for dogs and humans. The audio is over 4 hours long with voice only (no music).

My dogs like listening to my podcast when they are home alone, so I decided to make this calming relaxation episode especially for them (and to relieve dog separation anxiety for any dogs who like to listen to calm audio in the background when left alone). This exercise is for humans, too. It can work well as a sleep relaxation for anyone who wants to listen to a slow, calm audio where not much is happening.

In this version, content repeats to create a long relaxation audio track that will keep playing for 4 hours, which can be easier than trying to cue up a sleep playlist.

A calm, quiet, peaceful, and very long relaxation audio for anyone who wants to be calm, fall asleep, or simply relax.

Let’s relax. Get nice and comfortable as you lie down and settle in. Good. It is time to rest and be calm and relaxed.

Breathe slowly and calmly. So quiet and peaceful.

I’ll count to 4 as you breathe in, and count to 5 as you breathe out. Breathe in, 1, 2, 3, 4.

    Breathe out, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

So very nice and peaceful. So good. Rest.

  • PEM Relaxation for ME/CFS: A Morning in the Park
    May 1 2024

This relaxation is a calm, low key way to reset and recover from a crash if you have post-exertional malaise (PEM) or myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). There are no background sounds in this version - just the spoken audio.

This relaxation script can also be relevant for those who have long COVID, post-COVID, depression, stroke, endometriosis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, or other conditions that can cause fatigue, and for anyone who is experiencing fatigue or burnout.

Because your body may be feeling uncomfortable or in pain, this ME/CFS relaxation script does not focus on the body. The script includes a long, slow-paced story about a peaceful park. The story can help with rest and relaxation if you’re feeling tired even just lying there. This relaxation can help to calm your mind and rest your body when you are too fatigued to do anything.

There is some calm breathing at the start of the relaxation, but otherwise this script does not focus on the body. This can be helpful if focusing on your body is not comfortable or if doing so is less relaxing than turning your focus elsewhere. If you prefer to do more body and muscle relaxation first, you may want to listen to a short physical relaxation exercise and then proceed with this one. You can listen to these and all of my other relaxation recordings on my website, https://relaxation-audio.com.

Let’s begin by taking a few moments to clear your mind so you can relax and hear from God. Close your eyes, get comfortable, and breathe.

    Sit in silence, just breathing.

Let your thoughts and worries go.

    Just breathe… quiet… still… restful.

Concentrate on the feeling of the air moving into your lungs as you inhale… and out slowly as you exhale.

Ever so softly breathing… noticing the rise and fall of your chest with each calm breath.

    (Pause)

Now that you have taken a moment of stillness, consider the things that have been on your mind lately. Take one minute to acknowledge and reflect on the things that are worrying you, or that you have to get done, or that you are facing right now.

    (Pause 1 minute)

You may want to give your worries to God by telling him about the things you are thinking about. I’ll pause for one more minute to allow you time to share your thoughts with God in whatever way you may choose.

    (Pause 1 minute)

Now I invite you to pray with me if you want to, or you can take these next few moments to spend with God in a way that feels meaningful to you.

    The relaxation script continues...
