    Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has gained recognition as a highly effective treatment for eating disorders in young people, but what comes next can be just as challenging — and parents play a pivotal role in sustained recovery. So, this week on Raising Parents: The Parenting Science Insights Podcast, host Dina Sargeant consults Vills Garda Hospital’s head of department of Eating and Weight Disorders, Riccardo Dalle Grave, M.D. to learn more.

    At Villa Garda Hospital, Riccardo Dalle Grave, M.D. developed an original inpatient treatment for eating disorders based entirely on enhanced cognitive behavior therapy (CBT-E), and the adaptation of outpatient CBT-E for adolescents with eating disorders. Additionally, Riccardo Dalle Grave, M.D. is a fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders and a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Eating Disorders, Eating and Weight Disorders, and Journal of Eating Disorders. Over the past 20 years, Riccardo Dalle Grave, M.D. has published about 150 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, as well as four books in English.
