  • To My Daughter...
    Feb 13 2021
    31, To My Daughter...

To my daughter on her first Mother's Day.

Those were the words on the card that Tiffany Bernal stumbled upon in the middle of the card isle in Dollar Tree. In October. No where near Mother's Day in May. And it would be her first Mother's Day when May arrived.

Chills, right? Tiffany speaks of several other instances where she has had signs appear out of the blue, just like in the case of the card. As co-host of her podcast, Portraits of Grief, Tiffany speaks to us as a fellow griever and is very open about her own journey with losing both her parents, getting married, becoming a mom, and what life is like now.

    Podcast Spotlight:

28, She Climbs Mountains, Part 2

I spoke with Christine Friberg from Mother Daughters MN. Christine lost her mom at a very young age, and lost her father when she was older. In this episode, Christine introduces us to her father, Dr. M, and shares many pieces of advice, my favorite of which happens to be our discussion around grief and trauma. Using the words "my trauma" instead of stopping at the ever elusive and mysterious "grief."

Christine's advice to others who have lost their mothers:

    Talk about her!

The last few months have been filled with interviews! So many great guests will be coming your way in 2021!

I spoke with Christine Friberg from Mother Daughters MN. Christine lost her mom at a very young age (she'll tell us her story soon!) and has done some really great work for her community. One of those amazing things will be happening tomorrow:

    Confession time:

Steph loved Hanson growing up. They have a song named "Strong Enough to Break." This bonus ep includes some random thoughts about the word "strong" and how it's used in reference to someone who has walked through grief.

We'll be back to regular programming shortly.
