This is a running tip I use while running on roads. This is more of a tip for curves or blind spots on roads. Straight stretches not so much. It will keep you safer and allow you to be seen sooner and you to see traffic sooner. It gives you and a driver more time to react. Thus making you safe while running.

Its a pretty simple technique. While running on roads take a half step or when possible a full step off of the edge of the road where you normally would run, towards the white line if not over it. This will give that extra second of visibility, which can make all the difference. If no white line do the same thing just take that extra step over towards middle of road from where you'd normally be running.

Once you can see a car coming and you can tell they see you then you move back to where you normally would run. Generally you can tell they see you when they started to move over for you.

Will say right off the bat the book is hugely disappointing and a waste of time. There is no substance in the book at all that will improve a person's life. I heard him on Cam Hanes' podcast where he sounded interesting, so I wanted to listen to it. Now I know it was published four plus years ago before he had done some amazing races and things, and from what he said, changed his life, but this book does not really add anything to that.

It's actually very narcissistic in nature on how he got started in the nightclub life, how he moved up the ranks, his connections, the girls he slept with (or dated or a similar phrase, as "banged" is very informal and potentially offensive), drug and alcohol use, etc. The last 45 minutes of it is actually where he talks about turning his life around and started to get into running, which is what actually intrigued me about him. Besides being 50% about his nightclub life, the other 40% was about telling his side of the story about a woman who died that people think he was directly involved with. The last 10% at most was him changing his life.

It was more to me about bragging than anything else, making him seem cool and interesting. I will say Eli does seem like he is a strong-minded individual and achieves what he sets out to do. I do wish him the best. I also hope he continues down the right path, makes good decisions, and continues to crush his goals and races, but I really wish I didn't waste time on the book. He easily could have told the nightclub life and his side of the story in 10 minutes.

Also really didn't like the talking between chapters between Eli and the narrator. It really took away from the story itself was hard to stay immersed in the story he was trying to tell.

Sweat For Vets 10k 1st overall

Got 1st overall and king of the mountain (1st top top powerline)

Was a awesome day.

Felt spectacular today. I could have dropped 3-4 mins off time if i needed to. Wasnt pushed. Started little hotter then wanted to but once we hit climb took over. The course this year was 15-20% harder then previous years. The reason is the powerline had the rocks all scabuttled. So you couldnt find a path to actually run up it so it was way slower then last year where there was a path you could actually run. Same with the technical downhill all the rocks were like pointed up. Im not even exaggerating, ask others who ran. You literally had run on the tops of the pointed rocks to go down on the downhill. So it was way slower as well. I powered up the hill. Made myself a couple min lead easily. Id look back and see no one. I also as power walked up tucked in close to all grass and hunched over so noone could see me. So little sneaky. But yea made to top with at least 2 min lead if not 3 or 4. Lost a ton on the downhill since i was not willing risk falling and getting hurt. Plus again couldnt run it as much as years past. Once popped out bottom of technical downhill all of a sudden I got a huge speed burst and body literally told me "lets go". I took off fast and hard and was running 6s rest of way. I was flying and felt great. It was magical. Once I hit road I looked back no one in sight. At turn around i had solid 2 min lead. I dropped 6:00-605 rest of race. And i felt could have went faster then that but felt so comfortably easy to hit that pace. Came in with like 4 min lead. It was a great day. Though I won still easily as I said, could dropped few more mins off time easily. So happy to finally win the 10k. Couple years ago I got sent wrong way while I was in lead by minutes and ended up losing. So redemption finally

Broke into the 17🥒.Pulled it off. Nice chilly morning. The weather was just warm enough where could run in sleeveless shirt. This chilly temp and air allowed more fuel to get into lungs. Because the cold air was compressed and expanded once inside lungs giving a turbo speed boost. I took advantage of it. Also pushed hard way out. Drafted for first .4 before taking lead and taking over from there. Had 34 seconds at turn. Kept pushing not looking back. About 2.6 looked back to see anyone behind. Kept myself in control and not redlined. Did Feel in chest heart some middle race. After seeing lead i had about 2.8 finally relaxed. Might have lost 10 seconds total at end and maybe 5-10 beginning of race. Super happy with time. Though id like to have not have had to run as hard as I did to save for tomrrow. But since I won was worth it.

Very happy with how the race went. People seemed to enjoy how I set the course up this year with all the new items.

Weather was decent and I had more help this year so setup went smoother.
