  • “A Tender Heart and a Humble Mind” - CONFRONTING SELF-ISOLATION
    Dec 18 2024

As we approach the holiday season, I know many of us experience a heavy tug of loneliness, especially when battling depression. This episode is a little different, as I’m addressing something that’s been on my heart: the destructive cycle of self-isolation, particularly during the holidays.

Today, I’ll explore what the Bible says about community, from the very beginning in Genesis to the wisdom in Ecclesiastes and Proverbs. I’ll also share some personal reflections on how pride has played a role in my tendency to isolate, even when I have a solid support system.

If you’re someone who struggles with withdrawing when you're low, I hope this episode encourages you to reach out to your people — even if it’s just a text or a small step. The holiday season can be tough, but we were never meant to walk this journey alone.

So, join me as we reflect on the importance of community, humility, and vulnerability, and how leaning into the people God has placed in our lives is a key part of our healing journey.

Remember, you don’t have to navigate this season of life on your own — and that’s something worth celebrating!

Let’s embark on this journey of healing together as we confront our feelings, seek truth, and lean on God for understanding. Tune in, and let's get started!

  • “Not to Please People but Rather God” - CONFRONTING SEEKING VALIDATION
    Nov 20 2024

In this episode, we’ll be diving deep into the complexities of the struggle for validation. Building on my previous reflection of envy, I will discuss my personal journey of seeking praise from others and how it has often stemmed from feelings of inadequacy.

As per the theme of the show, we’ll contrast these experiences with Biblical teachings; highlighting verses from Luke and Galatians that emphasize the dangers of prioritizing human approval over God’s purpose. Through the story of King Saul, we’ll be witnessing the pitfalls of compromising one's identity and mission for the sake of pleasing others.

Today, I’ll be encouraging myself and all my listeners to shift our focus to God’s approval because there’s true fulfillment that comes from committing our ways to Him.

Let’s embark on this journey of healing together as we confront our feelings, seek truth, and lean on God for understanding. Tune in, and let's get started!

  • Dear Diary, I don't have the right to feel as hopeless as I do
    Mar 14 2024

    SEASON ONE FINALE

(WARNING: My ADHD was in hyperdrive recording this; so if it sounds like I'm just saying random things or rambling... that's why)

In this final diary entry of the season, I discuss my internal battle of questioning the validity of my own depression amidst the backdrop of global crises and societal injustices. Through some verbal processing, I wrestle with feelings of guilt and inadequacy.

This week, I simply wish to reassure my beloved listeners that every emotion, whether rooted in chemical imbalances or circumstantial hardships, is valid and worthy of acknowledgment. And with that being said, I urge all of us to keep pushing forward, one step at a time.

I'm leaving y'all with powerful reminders: (1) we are not alone in our journey towards healing; (2) there is a transformative power in vulnerability and connection.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.

Until next time, take care, and remember, you are not alone!

  • Dear Diary, am I a bad wife?
    Mar 6 2024

In this week's episode, I'll be discussing a deeply personal topic that has been constantly weighing on my mind: the concept of being a "good wife."

I'll be focusing on the traditional gender roles and expectations instilled in me since childhood.

With this episode, I aim to openly challenge societal expectations and emphasize the importance of prioritizing individual well-being within the context of a loving partnership.

My hope is that my listeners define their own relationship dynamics on mutual respect, communication, and happiness.

Let's redefine the meaning of partnership, and finds peace in the unique rhythm of our relationships. Love knows no bounds and true partnership goes far beyond conventional expectations.
