  • How To Live Within and Around a Blended Family 💚
    Mar 9 2025

Hello again! I'm SO glad to be back and to share what's been going on in my life recently! As some of you may now, for the past year now, I have been focusing a lot on how to live within and also around a blended family due to my partner having two boys. I share in this episode just how much of a blessing this has been along with the hardships I've faced personally along the way. First and foremost, I have learned SO much and I'm so grateful for all of it!

Quick disclaimer, as I mention at the start of this episode - I have only been within this set up for a year so I by no means know everything or know the ins and outs of a blended family which is why I have listed some resources for you below if you're seeking more help or advice. Some things that you can expect throughout this episode are:

    • Remembering your "why" during the hard times.
    • How a transition like merging into a blended family can bring deep-rooted triggers to the surface.
    • How to handle resentment and projection - where does it come from?
    • How to be (kindly) selfish, remembering that you are still your own person!
    • How to navigate differing parenting styles
    • Why communication is SO important.
    • Why it's important to choose love always.

  • How The Mind Keeps The Score On Trauma | My Experience With OCD | Chitchat with Kitcat
    May 22 2024

Join me on this very vulnerable episode where I explain all that I've learned over the past few months. What feels like a very fast-paced start to the year with regards to my healing has taught me more than any life experience ever could, including some of the most painful ones. As much as my mind has felt very against me, I am very grateful that it has taken me to these depths so I could backtrack, start to rewire my brain and understand where such loud, cruel, intrusive thoughts originated from.

What I now know to be OCD, the help of weekly therapy sessions, lots of self-learning and fantastic communities online, has helped massively when it comes to self-help as opposed to letting my mind just roam free which would only lead to rumination and a strong need to "figure it out". As I mentioned throughout this episode, there is no way of knowing what 'plants the seed' with mental illness or battles in the mind but we can look at the experience with compassion as that's where healing always starts.

I mention some of the ways that my brain works throughout this episode alongside what thought cycles can look like with OCD and common treatments. However, I would like to mention that this is only what I have learned along the way and that I am not a licensed therapist or health professional. If you are concerned for your mental well-being, please reach out to your GP for advice.

Trigger warning: contains content that may be upsetting for those with health anxiety, experiencing grief or a relapse in their OCD or mental illness recovery.

  • Who Are You? | Finding our Depths & Values | Chitchat with Kitcat
    Jan 28 2024

Hi friends! Welcome to episode 3 of Chitchat with Kitcat... This episode is all about finding our depths and values, figuring out what is most important to us and also understanding how our experiences can shape who we are too.

With the old versions of us that we shed throughout life, figuring out who we are can feel like a lifelong process (and it is!). Checking in with ourselves regularly and self-reflecting on these kind of questions is an important act of self-care to figure out who we truly are.

I'd like to give a shoutout to my dear friend, Jess for her wonderful breathwork class that inspired me to record this episode. I hope this episode helps you and that you can resonate with anything I have spoken about in some way. Have a great day, stay happy - love you! 💚

  • My Journey with Grief & Loss | Chitchat with Kitcat
    Nov 8 2023

Hi friends! I'm so glad to have you back with me on my second episode of Chitchat with Kitcat. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to put together this second episode, the lurgy got me and to be honest, it took me a while to piece together how I was going to put this episode together for you.

Thanks also to a whole bunch of you who follow and know me - I got lots of feedback from my first episode saying that you would like me to go a little deeper into who I am and what goes on behind the fun videos I create in my spare time. The truth is, I struggle a lot as I know many do when it comes to my mental health and whilst we all have mental health, I believe my struggles truly started when I lost my courageous Mum to Bowel Cancer when I was 19. She was my world, my best friend and my left arm, to live a life without her fills me with guilt, uncertainty and often leaves me in a place of subconsciously living in survival mode. Throughout this episode, I talk about how I literally have to schedule time throughout my day to be positive and to remind myself of all the good I have in my life. It can be easier said than done though which I think is really important to share.

I think it's obvious to most that I use humour to cover up a lot of dark feelings and emotions, although it is important for me to mention that that isn't solely to cover up sad times, I definitely got my humour and lightheartedness from my Mumma which I often bring to a lot of areas throughout my life with ease. This episode was so therapeutic for me to make and I hope you can resonate with it if you too have lost someone important in your life or are going through some kind of loss right now.

Love and light, I am here if you want to talk. Remember, you are never alone.

    Kitcat x

  • Welcome! 👋🏼 | Chitchat with Kitcat
    Oct 5 2023

Hello! I am so glad you're here... welcome to the very first episode of Chitchat with Kitcat! 👋🏼

Consider this first episode as a warm hug, a hello! Grab yourself a glass of Pinot, settle down and let's get into it. This first episode is a pretty brief chitchat but I wanted to share why I wanted to get into podcasting, share an update on the past couple of months and just have a chat with you outside of the house review videos (which I reveal all within this first ep!).

This current set-up is by no means where I want the podcast to be right now but putting imposter syndrome aside for a hot sec... I had to get started otherwise I never would! You've probably already seen but spoiler alert, this isn't the first time I have tried to release Chitchat with Kitcat.. I let my worries get the better of me last time but with my background in radio and profound passion for talking, I'm throwing myself into it again and winging it!

I hope you enjoy this first episode just as I enjoyed making it. Stay feral, luv ya x
