  • How To Live Within and Around a Blended Family 💚
    Mar 9 2025

Hello again! I'm SO glad to be back and to share what's been going on in my life recently! As some of you may now, for the past year now, I have been focusing a lot on how to live within and also around a blended family due to my partner having two boys. I share in this episode just how much of a blessing this has been along with the hardships I've faced personally along the way. First and foremost, I have learned SO much and I'm so grateful for all of it!

Quick disclaimer, as I mention at the start of this episode - I have only been within this set up for a year so I by no means know everything or know the ins and outs of a blended family which is why I have listed some resources for you below if you're seeking more help or advice. Some things that you can expect throughout this episode are:

    • Remembering your "why" during the hard times.
    • How a transition like merging into a blended family can bring deep-rooted triggers to the surface.
    • How to handle resentment and projection - where does it come from?
    • How to be (kindly) selfish, remembering that you are still your own person!
    • How to navigate differing parenting styles
    • Why communication is SO important.
    • Why it's important to choose love always.

  • How The Mind Keeps The Score On Trauma | My Experience With OCD | Chitchat with Kitcat
    May 22 2024

Join me on this very vulnerable episode where I explain all that I've learned over the past few months. What feels like a very fast-paced start to the year with regards to my healing has taught me more than any life experience ever could, including some of the most painful ones. As much as my mind has felt very against me, I am very grateful that it has taken me to these depths so I could backtrack, start to rewire my brain and understand where such loud, cruel, intrusive thoughts originated from.

What I now know to be OCD, the help of weekly therapy sessions, lots of self-learning and fantastic communities online, has helped massively when it comes to self-help as opposed to letting my mind just roam free which would only lead to rumination and a strong need to "figure it out". As I mentioned throughout this episode, there is no way of knowing what 'plants the seed' with mental illness or battles in the mind but we can look at the experience with compassion as that's where healing always starts.

I mention some of the ways that my brain works throughout this episode alongside what thought cycles can look like with OCD and common treatments. However, I would like to mention that this is only what I have learned along the way and that I am not a licensed therapist or health professional. If you are concerned for your mental well-being, please reach out to your GP for advice.

Trigger warning: contains content that may be upsetting for those with health anxiety, experiencing grief or a relapse in their OCD or mental illness recovery.
