Perfect Ending

I was super stoked when I saw that L.D. Davis’ Worth the Fight was finally available in audio form, Worth the Fight is the final audiobook in the Accidentally On Purpose trilogy, and the first audiobook AOP was released 3 ½ years ago. Worth the Fight is Luke Kessler’s story and would I highly suggest you listen the AOP before listening to this book

Luke’s story starts off with my favorite passage from AOP, when a desolate Luke confronts girlfriend Emmy Grayne over her affair with boss Kyle Sterling, it’s the most heartbreaking part of their story and hearing it told from Luke’s POV loses none of its intensity.

We learn what Luke’s been up to since the breakup and before Emmy comes to town and drops a bombshell on is life. This is an emotional listen as Luke and Emmy try to rebuild basic trust and then rebuild their relationship, but it’s not easy because even though a year has passed Luke is still very hurt and Emma has come back into Luke's life a completely broken woman, the harsh words Luke spoke to Emmy when they parted end up coming to fruition in the most painful of way. Realizing just how deeply wounded and depressed Emmy is, Luke comes to the realization that for both their sakes he must help to heal Emmy's heart.

I loved this story and it's a satisfying completion to the AOP series. Joe Arden narrates and he did an awesome job voicing the characters and I found his delivery completely engaging, this audiobook clocks in at almost 11 hours and it went by way too fast, I never wanted to put the story on pause, it’s that entertaining.

A very realistic life scenario with a overpowering control issues

I liked the fact that the story was not just a love story but very similar life situations that happen to people in this world. Very much had me full of anger, sorrow, and joy for the way they overcome there life situations. Loved the way you brought four live journey to a wonderful ending. Than you

TOO MUCH NON-SENSE

The narrator is amazing, one of my favorites actually. The story? ridiculous! I skipped books 1 & 2 because I'm not all for cheating but LORD why are these two so dense and inconsistent?

*SPOILER*
*SPOILER*
*SPOILER*

1. Emmy calls Kyle because she is curious, after he beats her ass almost to death? 2. It took Luke three weeks to say he didn't cheat with Iris? 3. Luke says he didn't act on it but he actually likes Iris? For God sake! Infuriating. Too long of a wait for a happy ending and the fact that there's a second book where Kyle gets redemption after almost killing a pregnant woman? come on!

Joe Arden=Worth the Listen. LD Davis=frustrating.

Joe Arden is brilliant, as usual, and as I said, completely 'Worth the Listen'. He doesn't disappoint and he is a great choice for Luke's voice.

On the subject of our story ... I enjoyed this book until about the 75-80% mark, and then I started to hate it. Luke was the only character I liked from AoP and I was so pleased to finally get to hear the story from his POV, and discover an Emmy I actually liked.

But what the actual f#@k?!

Just when Emmy and Luke get their HEA the story starts to plod along, bringing in a secondary character just to what? Make things "even" between Emmy and Luke?! Unfortunately, we're forced to watch Emmy and Luke's relationship strain under the pressure of a non-existent problem. And why?! Your guess is as good as mine. This book could have ended way earlier. But no, more issues are raised, more plot devices, more characters ... suffice to say that more words do not equate to better writing or a stronger story. I finished, but reluctantly. Ugh!

The other side of the story

I like hearing the other side of a story. Luke was an admirable character. It was nice to get to know Emmy better. She was what I would call a selfish bitch in the first book. Overall a good follow up book.
