Good story

I liked the story. Nick and Lainie has history that you can feel in their chemistry.
I really enjoyed the supporting characters and would love to hear their stories as well.
Some of the story was predictable, and some of it caught me by surprise.
All in all, it is an enjoyable listen.

The start of an exciting new series!

Nick Garrick is the son of an ex-con. His stepfather made him feel worthless when he was younger, and he constantly reminded him of his ‘worthless’ status. The only good thing in his life was his stepsister, Nola. Nola is Lainie Madden’s best friend, and Lainie has had a crush on Nick for a long time, but he has always treated her like a little sister, except for the one time he kissed her when she was 18. Lainie is the CEO of a billion-dollar design company, Pintura, and someone is sending her death threats. Nola lets her brother know what is happening, and Nick decides that Lainie needs his help--even if she feels like she doesn’t need it. He's a former SEAL who now works for Sentinel Security. She initially ignores his calls. Nick has stayed away from Lainie, because he doesn’t want to risk the relationship between Nola and Lainie if it doesn't work out, and he feels unworthy of her. Within this backstory, we learn more about the death threats, and about the potential people who might be sending them. Wolf is there to keep Lainie safe, but the forced proximity plays havoc with their determination to not get involved with each other.

Anna Hackett writes about alpha males, but she also makes her female protagonists' worthwhile partners to these males. She gives them grit, determination, and strength. This book is no exception. Lainie is an incredible businesswoman, and she balances Nick beautifully. The entire Sentinel Security team is pretty amazing, especially when they call on friends (from two other series written by this author) and it’s pretty evident that these books are going to be fun and exciting to read! As the story gets closer to its conclusion, there is some danger and uncertainty, but you can count on an HEA ending with Ms. Hackett’s books, and this one definitely delivers. This is a romantic suspense story, so there is sex, but the story gets well established before they take it beyond a kiss.

The production quality of the audiobook recording was excellent. These narrators are able to voice characters with different accents and inflections in a believable manner. There aren't any unexpected noises evident within the recording, and they did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life.

Love Anna Hackett’s Books

As always, Anna Hackett wows with interesting characters and a well fleshed out story line. I am not a fan of the performance. The performers don’t set the right tone for an adventure/love story. The narration sounds “forced” and unnatural.

Great story and performance

This is the first book in this new series. It is Nick (Wolf) and Lainie's story. I really liked seeing some of the characters from the other series sprinkled into this book. The characters are great, the mystery is great, and the romance is enjoyable (though I'm not a fan of the steam scenes). This is definitely a great start to the new series. The performance is very good.

Romance and Danger Entice

A smart business woman is threatened by a dangerous stalker. He not only scares her but makes cyber attacks on her business. An ex special forces man vows to keep her safe.

Suspenseful!

This is the first book in the Sentinel Security Series, a Military Romance. This series is amazingly interconnected with other Anna Hackett's security series (Norcross Serity Series and Team 52 Series). Nick “Wolf” and Lainie's story is suspenseful, and fast-paced, filled with mystery, danger, and twists and turns. Nick, a former SEAL and CIA agent, and second in command at Sentinel Security, is very handsome, alpha, and protective. Lainie, a CEO of a tech company, is beautiful, smart, and independent. Nick is her best friend’s older brother. They are perfect together. This is a great best friend’s older brother romance. The supporting characters are interesting, and intriguing. I loved to see again the characters from the interconnected series. Stella Bloom and Teddy Hamilton did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it. I need more! Looking forward to listening to Hades, the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed Wolf & Lainie's story. I love all the high tech stuff and when I find it in a story, it's that much better. I liked seeing some of the characters from other stories, Lockwood from Team 52 and a few from Norcross Security. I'm looking forward to the Sentinel Security personnel getting their stories.

The narration was spot on.

Fast moving and sexy!

This is my first read by Anna Hackett and I will definitely be reading more. Looking forward to next book on series. I’m hooked.
