Lola Penelope Caruso is my favorite person to torment. When she’s had enough of me, her freckled cheeks go rosy, her tiny hands ball into fists, and she pulls at her signature tight braid and lets down her long red hair.
I thought I'd seen her at her worst when we told her she’d have to move from New York City to a dump in Jersey with our law firm. But then a six-year-old showed up at my office with a note around his neck and my smile on his face, and she had to ask: Who's your daddy?
Now annoying her isn’t quite as fun. Apparently my ability to keep plants and fish alive does not mean I’m qualified to raise a child. He's smart and funny, and I'm pretty sure he'll raise me with more success than I can him.
Fortunately, we have one thing in common: our infatuation with Lola. Is it possible that she could ever like me as much as she likes him?

Cal, Sully, and Brian are forced to move to New Jersey for a year where they will live together and run their law firm from the small original, run down, rodent infested office space. They can take one paid employee with them and Lola is the lucky one. If this wasn’t enough, a young boy, Murphy, is dropped off with a note to his unsuspecting father, Cal, to take care of. Cal is the life of the party and basically comes across as a manchild. However, he jumps into fatherhood with both feet, even if it’s clear he has no idea what he’s doing. It’s sweet, endearing, and so funny as he tries to find his way.
Lola is the hardworking, driven, serious paralegal and ringleader to this circus. She’s exhausted by Cal’s efforts while at the same time impressed and attracted. She is the perfect support to Cal and the bridge between him and Murphy. Lola and Murphy are kindred spirits and bond immediately. They both grew up too fast and too serious out of necessity. They share amusement and sometimes shock at Cal’s antics.
Full cast narration was exceptional. Sean Masters with a British accent? Where has that been all my life? Every time he said ‘Whatever Lola wants…’ in that teasing, sing song tone I melted just a little more. I can’t get it out of my head. Angelia Rocca was fantastic as Lola. She delivered on her serious, focused nature to the exacerbated woman on the edge dealing with her parents and Cal’s outrageousness. Then to top off already incredible performances, you add in a supporting cast of Connor Crais, Stephen Dexter, and CJ Bloom. Enough said!
I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop listening. I don’t know how many times I laughed out loud, because it was A LOT. This was pure entertainment from start to finish and I can’t wait for the next two in the series.

Workplace romance

Romantic Comedy
Brittanee Nicole & Jenni Bara are at it again. After creating the Mom Coms, a series I still LOVE, they are now bringing us the Dad Coms.
The Dad Coms will be a series of swoony dads, epic banter, and the joys of being a parent with all the sarcastic parenting and romance we desire.
Book 1 , Who’s Your Daddy, follows Lola, Cal, and surprise, Cal’s 6-year-old son, Murphy, who is wise beyond his years and adorably genuine.
This workplace romance is a filled with eye rolls and charm. Lola can’t help but roll her eyes at Cal and his antics, but Cal, the charming Britt, is determined to win her over.
Narrated in duet by Angelina Rocca and Sean Masters. Angelina’s voice is so expressive that you can practically feel her eye rolls towards Cal and his brothers. She perfectly captures Lola’s sassiness as well as the compassion towards Murphy, giving Lola a soft tone towards Cal as she begins to see Cal in a different light. Sean Masters came in hot with the British accent, one I haven’t heard him voice before, and I was here for it. Sean portrays Cal as a goofy, carefree guy, but as the story progresses, we learn so much about him and the softie he really is.
I’m excited to follow the brothers’ journey and see where this series takes us!
Thank You Brittanee, Jenni, and the author agency.

Spice: 3/5
Spice Hierarchy: Spicy
Narration: 5/5 duet, full cast
The law firm of Murphy & Machon has just had their foundation rocked. They have to live and work in a house together. In New Jersey. Lola is their best paralegal and begrudgingly joins the fray. And since everything is changing let’s add a 7 year old showing up on the doorstep with a note claiming Cal is his dad. Let the antics begin!
Sean Masters singing “whatever Lola wants” has been on repeat for weeks. Cal is so far gone for Lola and it shines through. Angelina Rocca brought the exact blend of exasperation and appreciation as Lola. With a full cast, you really get a sense of each character. I cannot think of a more perfect casting.
I don’t have enough space to talk about how much I loved this story. It’s truly my favorite people doing what they do best. It felt like the best hug from a friend who knows you to your core. For the last year and half, I’ve been living in the world created by Jenni Bara and Brittanee Nicole. This Dad-com is exactly why I love these two authors. It’s rom-com but mixed with real life feelings, emotions, and humanity. In the same way that the Mom-Coms are a comfort read/listen for me, I already want to read/listen to this book again.

The banter between Cal & Lola is top tier and I love it!! Lola might always be annoyed with Cal, but once she starts to see through that playful exterior, things start to shift! I absolutely love everything about this and devoured this book in a day!
Audiobook:
Performed in duet with a full cast and this audio was absolutely amazing to listen to!!
Angelina Rocca was so perfect as Lola and I loved Sean Masters as Cal, plus he killed that British accent! And then Connor Crais (Sully), CJ Bloom (Sloane), and Stephen Dexter (Brian) absolutely crushed their performances as well! If you love audiobooks, then I’d 10/10 recommend listening to this one!
Adore them!

Lola is more serious and guarded. She’s calm, smart, no-nonsense, and has a huge heart. Cal was pining for Lola for years! He was completely obsessed with her, and I loved every second of it. Lola needed some time, but I loved witnessing her realize that she and Cal were perfect for each other. I also loved witnessing Cal step into his role as a father. Watching Murphy bond with Lola warmed my heart. He was adorable and deserved people in his life who would always show up for him. I'm already loving this new group of characters and can't wait for more of them.
Narration:
The audiobook is performed in duet with a full cast, and it is a delight. I had so much fun listening! Angelina Rocca (Lola), Sean Masters (Cal), Connor Crais (Sully), CJ Bloom (Sloane), and Stephen Dexter (Brian) all did a wonderful job bringing these characters and story to life. I can't wait to hear what the rest of this series has in store.

Cal has a lot on his plate with relocating his office and finding out he's a dad, so when Lola steps in to help, and Murphy takes a liking to her right away, Cal doesn't stand a chance against his infatuation that's been growing for Lola.
When a couple makes me laugh and swoon as much as Lola and Cal did, you know it's top tier rom com. Office romance and single dad that's down bad for his girl, yes please! I can't wait for the rest of the Dad Coms to experience this group of friends and found family coming together even more. I know we're in for a good time with this series. The full cast narration was so much fun and gave the perfect insight into what's coming with the rest of the series. I'm pretty sure Sully and Sloane are going to destroy me. I can't wait!
What a fantastic start to the Dad Coms!
