Resumen del Editor

Eight years ago Tess and Jake were considered a power couple of the New York publishing world - happy, in love, planning a family. Failed fertility treatments and a heartbreaking attempt at adoption have fractured their marriage and left Tess edgy and adrift. A visit to friends in rural Vermont throws Tess' world into further chaos when she sees a young, half-dressed child in the middle of the road who then runs into the woods like a frightened deer.

The entire town begins searching for the little girl. But there are no sightings, no other witnesses, no reports of missing children. As local police and Jake point out, Tess' imagination has played her false before. And yet Tess is compelled to keep looking, not only to save the little girl she can't forget but to salvage her broken heart as well.

Blending T. Greenwood's trademark lyrical prose with a superbly crafted and suspenseful narrative, Where I Lost Her is a gripping, haunting novel from a remarkable storyteller.

Great Book disgusted by the language!!!

The storyline to this book was so good. I love the details the author goes into. I will not be reading anything else by this author nor recommending it to anyone I know. I have never read a book with such disgusting language. Things do not need to be told in that way. It made my stomach sick sometimes to hear how they talk to each other. Hopefully women do not use language like that and talk to people in the way she did. You can write a wonderful book that can be recommended to everyone without using such vulgar, discussing and crude language. I forwarded through many pages so I did not have to read the words written on the page. But enjoyed the story and wanted to find out what happened to the little girl in the end.

Found a Good One

Easy listen. Interesting and entertaining. Mid chapters 20, I thought it was struggling to keep moving forward, but that passed quickly. I had an idea of how it would end, and I was correct. But I didn't find that to be a "bad thing" with this storyline. I love the narrator, Christina Delaine. I actually looked for books she narrates and found this one. Overall, glad I did.

Would recommend to a friend.

Storyline is predictable, but overall a good listen. I wish the author varied word choice a little more. Jacaranda must have been used 100 times. I have noticed this in other books by this author as well.

Best Voice Actress, Compelling Story

I thought that I would hate this book. The description seemed trite. But I never stopped listening! It is emotionally draining and wonderful at the same time. The actress ( She was awesome in the film version of "Who Killed Chandra Levy ") is stellar.

The writer dragged me in despite my not wanting to be ! And I am glad that she did.

Fans of all types will adore this book.
One of the best.

Great story

I am currently reading books about missing persons, usually children. These books are generally psychological thrillers. This story did not disappoint. The narrator was excellent at portraying the emotions and thoughts of the main character. I was pleased that my own interpretation of how the plot would progress was proved wrong a number of times.

Where she lost me -- at the start!

What would have made Where I Lost Her better?

I usually LOVE T. Greenwood's books! This one was overly dramatic and incredibly repetitive. The narration was insufferable -- droning and overwrought simultaneously, which I didn't think possible! I did a self-abridgement, skipping tens of chapters because I just couldn't take it anymore. I don't feel like I missed a thing.

What could T. Greenwood have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It would help to make the main character if not likable, then at least have her be someone for whom I could feel compassion. Actually I didn't like any of the characters. They were either desperate or petty or vapid or mean.

How could the performance have been better?

OMG! Dial back the drama! I've heard her read another book, and her voice was so much easier to listen to.

Any additional comments?

I always read reviews before buying an audio book, and appreciate having several reviews to better understand what I may be getting myself into for numerous hours. In this case -- buyer beware!
