Wonderful story

Touching story and well performed. The characters felt real to me. I loved it and didn’t want it to end.

This book was take you on a emotional journey

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster, the beauty of newly found love, the piercing truth of racism, the love and bond of family, the heartbreak and pain of losing those you love but yet the beauty of faith. A very well written book!!

Voice acting really put you into the story

Literal Tears

I cried way too much for a fiction...and, yes, I mean the ugly cry. I enjoyed the story and commend the author on eliciting that sort of emotion with ease. Or maybe my personal damage is just the right type to connect with the sad parts. Either way, great story! There were moments when I was sure of where the plot was headed, only for the author to definitively quash that path. I suppose my only concern is that the end felt rushed. There were so many paths to explore by the end, the story felt unfinished. Not "leading" in the way a series may end...but unresolved and inconclusive with too many paths to explore by the end.

Pleasant surprise!

If you want to give this book a one word description it would be "wholesome". My grandmother would say it is a "feel good" story. Extremely well-performed...story line kept me interested...ending was wonderful! If you're looking for edge-of-your-seat drama or action this is NOT your book. But,...if you're looking for a well-written, well-performed story with good flow then here it is! Enjoy!!!

Such a Good Read!

This was such a good book! It brought out so many emotions! I was mad, angry, sad, disappointed. I cried all of the last two chapters. This was wonderfully written!

Pleasant Surprise!

This is my first book by Ms. Jackson-Brown. Loved her writing and how she drew me into each character and their story. Even though the ugliest of the KKK and racism existed, the faith, love and strength of Ms. Birdee’s family prevailed. Love, love Opal and Cedric’s fresh love!

Wonderful

This book was so well written and held my attention through its entirety. It has been a long time since I read a book I could not set down until it was finished. Overall, and amazing read.
