One rainy day, years ago, a little girl named Lucy discovered that the back of a wardrobe isn't always just the back of a wardrobe. Sometimes, it's a door into another world.
In Lucy's case, that other world was called Narnia, and though she was among the first to enter it, she was by no means the last. Millions of children (young and old) have followed her there and met its strange but wonderful inhabitants - Mr. Tumnus, Reepicheep, and Puddleglum, among others.
But the lessons of Narnia don't just belong to the world of fiction and fantasy. We may never meet fawns, talking mice, or marshwiggles in our ordinary lives, but the lessons they teach in The Chronicles of Narnia are the very lessons we need to fight the battles we face in our everyday lives.
Douglas Wilson begins this series of meditations on C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia with the observation, "This is not intended to be an introduction to Narnia at all, but is rather more like a conversation between good friends about some other good friends, talking about what a good time we all had and why." Wilson highlights the practical themes of mature, Christian living that emerge from these classic tales - nobility, confession, complete grace - a joyful contrast to the thinness of modern life. God has designed each family to be a culture. It is the duty of the father to ensure that the shaping takes place according to biblical wisdom. Through the Messiah, God promised blessings to his people, "their children, and their children's children forever". The norm for faithful members of the covenant is that their children will follow them in their faithfulness. The oddity should be children who fall away. Unless we reestablish faithful Christian culture in countless homes, we will never reestablish it anywhere else.

Our modern society has called for us to “smash the patriarchy”, and the church has not done much better. Instead of telling men how they can hone and refine their aggressive traits, the church has told men that they should aspire to be meek servant-leaders, and when a man shows any signs of independence, he is shown the door. Men are supposed to found households, join brotherhoods, and work toward a mission. God made men to be strong and aggressive risk-takers. This is a feature, not a bug. Foster and Tennant remind us that it’s good to be a man.

In-depth analysis yet also succinct
This book (audiobook) is an excellent analysis of the biblical principles in Lewis's Narnia series. I especially like chapter 5 on the importance of story and reading the right kind of stories, not just Bible stories. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Narnia!

Many great insights analyzing the Narnia series
I would highly recommend this to anyone who has read the Narnia series and wants to think through the many Christian ideas and worldview of the books. Many things I was seeing. I benefited as I am now on my second time through the Narnia books.
