Acerca de esta escucha

The United Nations of Terra (UNT) will never forgive or forget the terrorist attack by the Kuiper Knights that killed over one hundred thousand Terrans.

The Space Marines may have won the battle against the Kuiper Knights on LAM, but the war continues in the shadows. The Master is dead, but some of his top lieutenants evaded capture, and the UNT wants them to pay. To get revenge, UNT President Okoye signed the Swift Sword Protocol, which authorized the pursuit and assassination of certain fugitives.

Major Abner Fortis is recruited by the new Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Agency (ISRA) for a Swift Sword mission. When Master Gunnery Sergeant Petr Ystremski is sidelined by a terrible tragedy, Fortis is teamed up with his old friend and former Space Marine Jocko Bender to hunt down a short list of familiar names: Emil Zerec and JJ Zylstra.

It’s a dirty and dangerous mission. Zerec and Zylstra are skilled and ruthless, and they are supported by a shadowy network of sympathizers that the ISRA is only beginning to unravel. Fortis and Bender chase the pair of Kuiper Knights from familiar stomping grounds to strange new worlds in order to deliver justice like only Space Marines can.

When an unexpected opportunity arises and the scope of the mission changes, Fortis and Bender are called on to do what they do best: improvise, adapt, and overcome.

No Bad But Not Good

This is the 11th book in the series and this go around it felt a bit abridged with people, elements of plot, and other minor things being introduced for the sole reason of filler. Used for a short time with no real purpose and then discarded. No tie in to the greater story, nor any useful purpose. The introduction of one crew that makes a deliver only to hang around long enough to help the two primary characters leave a planet was honestly not needed. It was just filler material. The filler material, while well written, just seemed useless over all to the story. It gave the story a decidedly abridged feel. If you enjoy murder, well then, you'll get a couple of doses of senseless murder in this book. It is disturbing what can be written sometimes. Over all I enjoyed this addition to the story but feel that my interest in the series as a whole is starting to sour. I like the author and his ability to tell a good story has improved since Cherry Drop (Book 1). That being said, the cruel and brutal execution of people is something that I as a listener / reader feels could be toned way down. I hope you enjoy the book. It is worth a credit and a nice addition to the series. It just doesn't do a lot as it is mostly loosen end tie up with an abridge plot. Excellent Narration as usual from Mr. Pirhalla.
