Resumen del Editor

Initially published in 1971, this book became perhaps the rarest "contactee" book ever. Prior to its 2014 reissue, there were only a half dozen copies remaining in the world's library system, with the rest trading for thousands of dollars each.

This special edition includes content that poses deeper, more disturbing questions about the beneficent "Space Brothers."

Woodrow Derenberger, the author of the book, claimed to have had a series of strange adventures beginning on November 2, 1966. While driving home from Parkersburg, West Virginia, to his suburban home in Mineral Wells, he suddenly found the highway blocked by a large, gray object. Someone emerged from the object and walked to the passenger-side window of his car. The man introduced himself as "a searcher" and offered words of comfort to Derenberger.

After noting that he would come again, the "spaceman", who called himself "Indrid Cold", stepped back into the object, and it rose out of sight. Derenberger went home and told his story to his wife. He then called the police and the press. Soon after, other witnesses came forward to say that they, too, had seen Cold talking to Derenberger by the side of the road. (In time, several locals would have their own encounters with Cold.)

Two days later, while driving in his car, Derenberger began to receive telepathic communications from Cold, who described himself as from the "galaxy of Ganymede". Cold also supplied some information about his life, including the observation that people on his planet (Lanulos) lived to be 125 to 175 of our Earth years.

Over the next weeks, other stories would accumulate that substantiated other parts of Derenberger's story, including independent UFO sightings on November 4.

Fascinating !

Derenberger's book was fascinating and entertaining! it's a must read for anyone interested in UFOs. Reading it didn't make me believe his account of what happened any less or more, but I am certain that Derenberger believed that it all happened. Too bad we haven't heard much more from, or about Indred Cold!

Great Book

I really enjoyed this book, I would highly recommend it to anyone but especially people interested in UFOs and aliens and the like. I found this book fascinating and listened to it much faster than I usually listen to books on audible. Great book.

A slice of American UFO History

As much as I want to believe, I take this book with a grain of salt. It’s beyond fantastic and feels deeply like a fairytale. However, when we look back at the roots of UFOs and high strangeness in the mid 20th century, it’s easy to see the entanglement of fantasy and reality.

It’s hard to say what Woodrow actually experienced. It’s harder still to believe his claims as we move into an ever outward exploring galaxy. His definitions of planets in the solar system are far from what reality has shown us. With that said, I feel this book is of great importance as a piece of American mystery and history.

If you’re desperate to believe, perhaps Keel’s proposed Ultra-terrestrials are hiding in these pages.

Could maybe fool someone in 1971

Woodrow Derenberger’s account of encounters with space men starts with his first encounter with Indrid Cold and quickly devolves into wild, far fetched stories of space travel and visits to far away planets, including descriptions of alien settlements on Saturn, Mars, the moon and Venus (complete with rivers and a max temperature of 110 F). Modern science completely debunks a majority of these supposed true stories. Also if space people were actively trying to reveal themselves to the people of earth as this book attests in the late 60s and early 70s, they’ve done a horrible job in the 50 years since the events written in this book to adequately reveal themselves.
