Heather B. Moore
Pine Valley librarian Livvy Harmon has big dreams, which include marrying Dr. Slade McKinney. Trouble is, he’s kissed her only once in their four months of dating, and it wasn’t all that great. But Livvy isn’t ready to give up yet on hooking such an amazing man, even though Slade seems to have time for everyone but her.
When Livvy keeps running into writer Mason Rowe, who seems to be camping out in her library to finish his book under strict orders from his agent, Livvy at first keeps him at arm’s length. But the more their friendship grows, the more she finds that her dream relationship with her doctor boyfriend isn’t so dreamy after all.

I really enjoyed this story. I couldn't figure out the attraction between Slade and Livvy at all. On either side. Livvy is obsessed with marrying a doctor and that is the only thing that makes him likable. I think Moore does a good job of showing that Slade is generally a good guy but not ready for an actual relationship. I mean, they have been dating for months and he kissed her one time. And then not again. Usually once you kiss, you continue to have kisses. He didn't seem to crave her or her company. He is too involved in his work. But maybe someday when he meets the right person it will be okay. I loved how he wants to convince Livvy that she comes first with him and then answers his phone.
Livvy's obsession with Doctors could have ruined her life really. Unless she found one that wasn't married to his work. I was glad she figured it out before it was too late.
I really liked Mason. There were obvious sparks between Mason and Livvy. A much better choice for Livvy.
I was relieved with the ending. I was afraid that it would go a different way. Still a happily ever after but just different. The way it was written was perfect for their HEA. This book could be the premise for a Hallmark movie. Feel good style where everything ends up how you want it to.
No sex or violence
Language: a little, mild.

That’s what happened to Olivia. She thought she had her life all planned out, marrying the doctor of her dreams, when in walks Mason, who turns her world upside-down.
I love the interplay of this match made in heaven. (I mean, seriously! A librarian and a best-selling author!) And the narrator did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.
I’m looking forward to reading more of Ms. Moore’s stories.
New dreams and romance

Livvy has fantasized about marrying a doctor since she was just a girl - to the point that she is putting up with Slade as her boyfriend. Slade is so self-centered that it's infuriating & it's really hard to understand Livvy's willingness to put up with being the last person on Slade's priority list. As bad as it makes Slade look, Livvy ends up looking not just immature but like she's essentially trying to marry him for his job rather than him personally - not a gold digger, per se, but something akin to it.
She meets Mason, who's one of her favorite authors, and they find themselves attracted to each other. I'm not ok with cheating on a boyfriend/girlfriend, but Livvy didn't really have a relationship with Slade no matter what they called it, so their growing interest didn't bother me. There's an initial point where emotions overcome sense & I didn't actually have a problem with that either, BUT Felicity gives Livvy advice afterward about how she should handle it that was just wrong. And THAT bothered me. I get that Livvy needed time to figure out her own feelings, but she needed to be upright and tell Slade that since he was still calling.
I did enjoy when Livvy finally put her foot down on Dr Dreamy's "my patients can't live without me" crap. It was also funny how Dr Dreamy was defeated at the football game party by his own phone habit.
The romance is pretty passionate & the ending is really sweet! Sadly the author doesn't appear to do epilogues.
*Clean romance level: passionate kisses
(The narrator has a really nice voice, and did a good job with the characters)
