Entertaining romcom

Though romcoms are generally formulaic, and this is no exception, the characters and story arc are creative and engaging. Some things like the way Jo and Caleb trauma bonded, seem far-fetched. However, I’ve known of real life people who came together in even more unlikely ways … so can suspend my disbelief.

There were two dangling threads that I wish had been resolved. One was with Jo’s mom and how their relationship might’ve been changed by how the story ended. They’re also seem to be something unfinished about Jo’s relationship with her brother. Maybe I missed something, but I didn’t understand the basis for the estrangement and leaving that unresolved felt like a missed creative opportunity. Maybe there is meant to be a prequel or a sequel that will tie up some of those loose ends.

Wonderful, realistic storyline

The story was absolutely captivating from beginning to end usually listen to a lot romance now however happen to catch my eye. I’m so glad enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Great story…loved the characters!

This was a great read! The characters were great and the story line was different than anything I have read. The male character does use the F bomb a little more than I cared for but the intimate parts of the book were done with class and just enough detail! ! I’m a fan!

I love the storyline, it's fresh and unpredictable. Just the right amount of heartache, Happiness and love.

Could have been excellent

Twice in a Lifetime is a cross between a cliche rom-com and a meaningful story about trauma, grief, and moving on. The performances with narration are wonderful, and there's even an original song near the end. The characters have meaningful backgrounds, and the plot is character-driven which makes the story enjoyable. However, the story also has some pacing issues and becomes predictable. The ending feels cliche, and some of the melodrama detracts from the meaningful themes such as moving on from loss, grief, and even move. Additionally, the romance that forms feels inappropriate because of the dynamics between the characters, as well as one being the other's boss. As a man, I fèel that the male protagonist gets off way too easily with some his cruel behaviors, regardless of his character flaws and trauma. Overall, it's an interesting story and I liked the themes it attempted to explore, but the cliche and predictability aspects, plus the pacing and inappropriate dynamics, detracted from my enjoyment by the end.

What an amazing song!!

I loved the characters complexities. Great narration! Storyline. And what an amazing original song. I have heard other original songs in previous audiobooks I’ve listened to and had to hold back a laugh because, clearly the author was no songwriter, but this song, and her voice should be released as a single for real! Loved this from beginning to end!

FANTASTIC!!!

Absolutely loved this story! I couldn’t put it down, stayed up all night listening to it, It’s a very unique storyline & unpredictable. The love interest couple are not the typical match. Narration is excellent also!
