Mostly worth it

Some stories hit the mark, others were meh. I had the most irritation with some of the narration; a British voice reading a story set in Maine, another selection read in a poor American accent. Just hire the experts.

Now this is a Snow white story I can get behind

Story number 2 is worth the buy in itself. very unique and crazy version of snow white

Nice variety

I loved the variety of narrators and stories. Some were quite inventive takes of classic tales.

F'dup fairytales

No surprise that Neil Gaiman's Snow Glass Apples is that stands out. There is also a surpassing beautiful take on the Red Shoes as well.

really interesting selection of short stories

short stories and especially interesting in the horror genre. this collection had some really interesting takes on fairy-tales as well. recommended for horror fans

cursed stories not retold tales

What I liked most about this anthology was that every story was about a unique curse. There were two stories that basically retold Snow White but for the most part each story was original.

The only unifying feature was that each story be about a curse. Some people broke their curses some succumbed, some learned to live with them in symbiotic harmony. But all were curses make no mistake

My favorite story was the one about the cursed doll. It featured fun characters and interesting world building that I could see supporting a novel. (I think the author was Kelly Armstrong, I should look it up there might already be novels with these characters.)

The stories were read by multiple narrators who all did a fantastic job.

Many of these stories were creepy AF!

I can't say I disliked anything about the experience. The stories were creepy, some more than others. The narration was spot on.

very clever stories told well

It's remarkable how truly good writing can pull a person in and mesmerize them. I loved every one of these stories. Some are clever in their underlying concept. Others are intriguing metaphor. Every one was very engaging and satisfying.
The narration was top notch as well.
Now I need to listen to/read the first volume in this set. (These are all short stories so the sequence of reading does not matter.)

A letdown

I liked only 3 stories from this collection. The rest were so boring that I found myself wishing it was over so I can start a new book.

boring

found myself tuning it out, had to hit rewind a lot before i gave up entirely. i don't mean to disrespect the authors or the actors, this is just not for me. the stories aren't reimagined in a way that's interesting and the writing style (of the first half, which is all i could manage) the individual authors mist have have had a group chat and agreed to make word salad. the voice actors range from uninteresting to ear grating.
